student blues

A lot of my students will not be able to function in the real world when they become adults, because they do not know how to take responibilty for their actions. Their parents are not teaching them how to. They are being taught by their parents to blame everybody else as to why they act the way they do. I see that when I talk to them about their . The behavior is very bad. My principal doesn't want them suspened or sent to AEP if they have earened it. She wants them at school because of TAKS-the state test. The bad behavior is making it difficult to teach.

Sweet, about all you can do is pray for them. I guess the big challenge lies in your hands....coping with the misbehavior.
Hope to see more of your blogs.

I agree with Marjorie, that does sound like a big challenge.

I agree with you. I teach also and our parents often are the reason the kids are the way they are. So we must pray for them and try to teach them about life as well as our subjects. We must also be the light in their dark world. Jesus tells us we are the light and the salt of the earth. Without us the world is dark and flavorless. We are to do His work in everything we do. It is hard, but love these kids despite themselves, let them know you care and that you expect them to do their best not for you, but for themselves, so that they have choices when they grow up. I don't know what age you teach, but we all respond to love if it persists long enough. Some of your kids may not know what love is at all. That is the dark world we live in today. I'll keep you in my prayers!!!

I see that lack of responsibility and blaming going on at my school as well. It is very frustrating but God is still on His throne and I turn it all over to Him and keep on plugging away as best I can and love those kids as much as I can inspite of their bad behavior. Glad to know that someone else is frustrated about this topic as well.

God bless and may He give you strength and wisdom for each new day.
