He said "I DO"....

A few years ago I had the privilege of performing a wedding ceremony for a couple of friends of mind. Anyway, to cut this part of the story short, when the part came for the groom to affirm his intent to keep his vows, he barely whispered "I do". Now I'm quite sure to this day that the only one that heard him was me. So, being the helpful guy that I am, I promptly paused the ceremony to loudly tell everyone in the building "He said I DO!". Of course, my buddy turned beet red to everyone's applause and laughter.

Many of you know about how the Lord made a way for me to meet Jean (reallysaved) in person. I was so excited that I got to the airport 2 hours early. Then, of course, the flight was late.

When the flight arrived, I positioned myself to one side of the causeway, trying to hide a bit I think. Finally, she came around the corner, and I was flabbergasted. She is so beautiful...the fear set in...How could such a beautiful woman want to meet me? As she got closer she spotted me...a big grin quickly sprang to her face. Oh what relief...I quickly walked to her and we hugged.

The feeling at that moment was echoed later on the 2 hour ride back to my town. I told her that I felt like she'd been on vacation and was now coming home. She said she felt the same way, so comfortable, like we'd always been together. I think we held hands the entire way, and I know my heart was a puddle within me.

Here's the juicy part, sitting on my couch, at 3:36am, I asked her to marry me...and she actually said "YES, YES, OH MY GOD, YES". Well, I might be amplifying her response a bit, but that's how it seemed to me....hehe

Anyway, I'm sure there will be more news to follow...God bless, we covet your prayers...

Pastor Ed

What can I say? I love it! And all this coming from a pastor, no less. What is the world coming to??

And Ed, it's just as much a blessing to me to hear your perspective on this as Jean's. I can't tell you how encouraging this is to me, and doubtless, lots of others here at BC, too. By the way, did either of you notice that sometimes you have over 1000 views on your posts. Is God using you to be a testimony of his awesome divinely orchestrated grace or what??!!

I'm reminded of the scripture that says, "...with men these things are impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Congratulations again, and as another sweet friend (in OKC) says often, Yippee! Skippee!

Again, let me offer my congratulations and prayers for many happy years together serving Him.
Just out of curosity, was this the first time that the two of you actually got meet in person? Just wondering, considering some of the "heat" that Jessica and I received.

(elbows Bryan with a grin, saying "It's not just you, buddy!")

Praise God! I want to quote a line to you from a song I wrote, called The Best Is Yet To Come

Imagine Jesus, sitting down with you to pray
or walking with you on a lazy summer day
Or playing with your Kids, and laughing, as they swing
or smiling, as your girl puts on your wedding ring

THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

While you were kneeling, and she was freaking, He was in the corner, GRINNING AT YOU!

Love,

-Danny

Whew! You have a job ahead of you, sister Jean!

You are about to be "The Pastor's Wife"

We see how you walk with the Lord, right here in BC. I am confident that, once you are under everyone's scrutiny, there, you will show Jesus just as well as you do here.

I'm glad I'm just a minister, not a Pastor. It takes a special woman to be willing to accept the kind of burdens a Pastor's Wife must accept. May Jesus bless you for being such a woman.

Ed, I'm sure you realize what a rare treasure you have found. May she fill your life with joy and peace, and may she be the Helpmeet to you that a Pastor needs.

-Danny

Wow - Ed - after reading your post about your meeting - I'm quite sure you are both meant for each other. I can tell you possess all the qualities that Jean has been looking for a long time. And I have to say - Jean is a beautiful person inside just as much as outside! You know that already! Tears flowing - I just cant express how happy I am for BOTH of you.
