Being a conservative Christian in a politically correct world

It can be hard being a conservative Christian in today's world. Most people are afraid of offending others by speaking the truth. Personally, I'm more offended by someone trying to soften the truth than I am by someone being brutally honest. I value my own integrity. And, I greatly appreciate honesty in all things.

It can be hard to be honest with people. I don't like hurting people. But, it will hurt them more, later, when they find out that I lied to them. I've done my best to instill that in my . Sometimes, she thinks I'm nuts because of it, though. That's okay. Eventually, she will come to realize that, in some small way, I'm right about honesty.

I cannot recall ever reading about Jesus softening the truth so that He wouldn't offend anyone. In fact, I've read the opposite. He would offend people by telling the truth. But, he told the truth out of love. Yes. He would get angry. But, it was an anger borne out of His love for mankind.

Welcome to blogland!

This is a great first post. I too struggle to find the balance between what people now regularly say, "Judge not", and our responsibility to each other in our walk with the Lord. Making sure we speak in love and gentleness with a humble spirit, I guess is the first key.

Thank you.

Thank you all for the welcome! I'm rushing about today, so won't get to post again until later tonight. But, I look forward to any comments to anything I post in the future. I'm thinking about posting some of my articles that I posted on other sites.
