That is a beautiful verse, though I wonder if the meaning of that keyword believeth has been watered down in English to what it meant in Greek. Afterall faith without action is dead. Can I truly believe in him and go on living like a pagan? Intesting question, but then at the end of the day, why would I want to go on living in sin when He offers freedom.

Read on a couple of verses, too, for the context: "he that believeth not is condemned already." How important to believe!

To believe in John 3 verse 16 is to trust, for as James says, "the devils believe - and tremble."
