Good evening - Interesting post.

how broad of a spectrum does the Word of GOD allow for with regard to obedience?

I suppose that if you are asking about grace displayed from one Believer to another, then there should indeed be a spectrum as broad as what was displayed toward us from the LORD -

but if you are asking how wide the tent should be regarding homosexuality (lesbianism, specifically) then I would again ask how wide the LORD's instructional tent happens to be -

it is important that we remember that the LORD instituted a relationship with mankind - and that we are called to unity in Spirit - for once born again we are indwelt with the Holy Spirit,

but that dos not mean that we are to jointly agree to any and all doctrines that present themselves or seek to find justification under the concept of grace -

we are instructed to "study" to show ourselves approved - which means more than just speculating or rendering philisophical thought about Scripture.

It means truly digging in and meditating upon the WORD -

Investing time in prayer - seeking knowledge and asking for wisdom

You ask, "Are lesbians seen as hell-bound abominations?"

I happen to believe that the most important part of that answer comes from the necessary follow-up question of "by who?"

true - it is important to understand the nature of our reputation in the eyes of the Family of GOD -

but it is more important to understand the nature of our identity in HIM.

Also - we should remember that identity is to determine behavior - it should never be the other way around.

If you know of someone who is struggling with homosexuality and is indeed resisting those urges, I encourage you to encourage them, for they are doing the right thing.

We know from Scripture that homosexuality - which certainly includes lesbianism - is indeed an abomination. The ACT is an abomination -

if the person commiting the act ceases that lifestyle - and repents from any adherence to such a practice - it does not mean that they are guaranteed that they will no longer struggle with those thoughts or urges anymore than a recovering alcoholic will cease to desire another drink -

but victory is had in the refusal to yield to such a desire.

I read within the Word that if a "Brother" continues in a sin (particularly a sexual sin, as it is llisted first) we are not to associate with that person - not even to share a meal - for that is the joint breaking of bread, which represents our LORD's body offered up for us -

( 1 Corinthians 5, vs. 11 )

Sincerely,

Frances

I agree with my brother and sisters..........sin is sin. Homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord thy God.
Abomination: Something God hates! He hates homosexuality BUT He loves the homosexual. He pleads for repentence. He waits with arms open wide. He says TODAY is the day of salvation.

My prayers and blessings from a sister in Christ. He will guide your ways if you will look to Him. Seek His words and listen for His answers.

Yes, you would then be wrong. I pray that God touches your heart and leads you into all truth!

God does have a monopoly on the truth, and He says that homosexuality is a sin. Whether you choose to listen to Him or not is up to you, though. I pray God will lead you into all truth and that you will choose to follow Him in it!
