Hope in Christ and the promises our Lord offers.

When I was so small, I was so full of life,
Then one day I noticed my Mum was in strife,
So worried for me, two years to live,
But never once did she fail me and give in.

My short life, although different was kept full,
With day trips, music and cuddlies and film.
Many a trip did I take in that chair,
Pushed by my Mum I went everywhere,

Laugh, I did plenty, at school and at home,
I was not put off by my ailments alone.

The last seven yrs was most difficult though,
Stuck in my bed, I never left home,
Only for respite did I travel away,
But my Mum, she was there to stay.

Even at the last she cuddled me so,
I say this last bit to comfort you so……

Don’t cry for me, I’m happy now,
I have joined him who is to come on a cloud.
I’ve been given a white robe to wear,
Along with my new legs and sign written chair.
The biggest banquet I’ve tasted at last,
After a very, very long fast.

I bet you all to eternal glory
So do not be sad when you hear my story.

I’m with them you know,
Our family you miss;

Serving The Lord, so much peace this is.

No more pain or pads or electronic beds
Just multitudes of teasers and life giving water instead.

No more I thirst for what you all call normal,
I have in abundance all The Lord offers
So keep this in mind when you feel so sad,
I’ve been given all I never had……..

Amen.
