A Stone or Bread

No loving father would give a stone or a snake to his hungry if he asked for a piece of bread or fish. Jesus used the absurdity of that analogy in Matthew 7 to underscore the heavenly Father's readiness to give good things to His when they ask Him. He wanted them to have complete confidence in the Father's provision for their spiritual needs.

Sometimes, however, it may seem as if the Lord has given us "stones" instead of "bread." But in His wisdom, He actually is working through our circumstances to give us something far better than what we requested. An unknown author expressed it this way:

I asked for health that I might do greater things;
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.
I asked God for strength that I might achieve;
I was made weak that I might learn to obey.
I asked for riches that I might be happy;
I was given poverty that I might be wise.
I asked for power and the praise of men;
I was given weakness to sense my need of God.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing I asked for but everything I hoped for;
In spite of myself, my prayers were answered -
I am among all men most richly blessed.

Yes, God always gives us what's best for us. We may ask amiss, but God answers aright.

God bless

You are a very strong young lady. The wealth of God's wisdom for one so young just blows my mind. Surely the Lord has a might plan for You. In fact, already you seem to be operating in it.

Do me a favor - please read the lates- oh I am not sure how many blogs of mine, as you have time- no hurry. Then I would like to receive your comment via on a blog or via email.

The Lord is with you, my dear.

Tell me* what is it you already know that the Lord is going to have you do?

You are beautiful in God's eyes. & I know a light to us here. Thank you & thank the Lord.

Hey big sis in Christ imavessel, thanks for taking time to read my blogs. I have read some of your blogs too ... and you are such an encouragement to me. Glory be to God! For me you are a strong woman of God and is so much blessed. You may have lots of struggles in life ... but God allowed it for a purpose.

It's good that you're able to share and allowed yourself to be open to our Christian friends here at BC. You can have some insights and thoughts to ponder before you can make some decisions in life.

For me, I wouldn't say YES nor NO. Remember, God is not a God of confusion. Neither a God who only thinks of Himself. The Holy Spirit will tell you if it's of God or not. If you are confused with what has been going on, confused emotionally, if you have doubts on this matter. Then think. Maybe it is not of God, though we may be blinded by the events.

Satan can do so many things to fool us. Some of which we may even think that it's from God. Satan can also use people ... believers and non-believers. What I am trying to say is, if at this point in time you are bothered, you have doubts, you're disturbed (emotionally or whatever) ... which I think you are. Then stop and think. Put it all at the feet of Jesus.

Don't settle things on your own. Give it all to the Lord. He knows what is best for you. And big sister if it's His will then things will go on smoothly .

I love you with the love of the Lord! God bless you!
