Where Is Our Treasure

What do we call success in this world of ours ? Do we have prestige ? How do we like people to think of us ? What are our goals in life ? A lot of people in todays world are impressed on how much wealth a person has . What kind of car they drive or what kind of house they live in . Is this what our goals are ? You hear all the time on how to get rich fast . What is most important to us ? {Treasures in Heaven} Matthew 6:19 thru Matthew 6:21 Do not store up for yourselves treasure on earth where moth and rust destroy , and where thieves break in and steal . But store up for yourselves treasures in Heaven , where moth and rust do not destroy , and where thieves do not break in and steal . For where your treasure is , there your heart will be also . /It is not wrong to have possessions for God gives us everything we need , even each breath we take God gives us , but what we do with our resources we have is what counts . Do we care for others or only for ourselves ? / Matthew 19:16 thru Matthew 19:24 In the story of the rich young man who followed all the commandments , but his money and possessions was what he cared the most about . We need to care about others and the things of God . Where is our treasure here on this earth or are we going to have treasures in Heaven where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal . Where is our treasure ???

Welcome to blogland, Brother!

My treasure is stored up in Heaven. The "God wants you rich" philosphy is so unscriptural, but it appeals to people's greedy flesh, so tons of them buy into it.

I love to hear stories about people that God has blessed with wealth, but others never knew about it until after they died because they lived so modestly. Then, after they died, it was discovered that they gave away all they had except the basic necessities of life. Those stories are few and far between, but I have heard them, and when I do, I always pray, "God please let that be me!"

Be blessed, Brother!

Hi Elvis,

Wonderfully thought provoking post... and how TRUE! So many people today are busy keeping up with the Joneses, racking up debt to do it, wanting, bigger, better, badder toys. It's actually kinda silly when ya think about it, cause ya can't take it with ya when ya go!

Welcome to the land of BC Blogging!
Have a wonderful day,
Sue

The Bible says a man's life consists not in the abundance

of the things he possesses..........and also

where your treasure is there your heart will be.

Amen Elvis, I often think about the treasures stored up in heaven and what all that is going to be like!!!!

Nothing in this world can give us the peace and security like having an intimate relationship with Jesus. I have heard famous people say , after attaining great wealth and fame, that they are still empty inside...

Welcome to the blogs........ looking forwards to reading more !

You have great writings. When I was young, I truly did not care about the world treasures. I worked really hard but didn't care if I had anything or not. I was a bit unwise but very in touch with what I knew was the most important thing, and that was to hear God and do His will. Many miracles happened during those years. After I had children, I began carrying the burden of raising my children and providing their needs. I worked really hard at taking care of everything. It was after my divorce when I realized that no matter how hard I worked, I wasn't going to be able to provide for teenagers needs much less their wants. I remember just throwing up my hands to God and saying to God - help. I can't do this. I refuse to do this. I remember talking to Him and saying that He promised to provide all of our needs according to His riches. Ever since then God has provided for my children and myself. I refuse to take the load into my mind again. He has in the past 1-1/2 years outdone me by 100%. He wanted to provide for me, so when I think of my treasures, I don't have any treasures other than my master and saviour Jesus Christ, who is faithful and worthy and all in all to me for eternity.
