Removing emotional baggage Series: Part 1 - 5

More to come later tonight.

(part 1)

Over our lifetime, we collect many different attitudes that make us feel the way we do. The way we feel affects our moods and also the moods of those around us.

Sometimes we have to change the dial on our mental channel that creates our attitude. But is isn't always as easy as you would think, is it? The problem is we don't see things as they are , we see them as we are and how we feel depends on how we choose to feel.

People will usually ignore their own attitudes and rationalize them away. Have you? Some wallow in self-pity never breaking out the cycle. I wonder why this is? Some hold onto there attitudes instead of trying to change them, because change would be too upsetting. Have your negative feelings become your resident friend?

The next set of posts will deal with these negative emotions that keep us in bondage.

You can change them because you are the one who decides what thoughts to keep. You have the ability to change anything about your life if you make a conscious effort.

Can you relate to any of these thoughts?

"People don't care about me anymore."

"There are no more good people in the world."

"Nothing seems to make me feel better."

"You can't trust anybody these days."

"People wouldn't understand me."

"There's nothing out there for me."

"Oh she is getting all of the attention, why bother"

"Life has no purpose."

"I don't deserve happiness."

"It's too late to start now, I am over the hill.
"

The cure for loneliness is to go out and socialize, get involved with your church and join a bible study. Get involved in a few blogs and create friends by commenting to the ones you like. Find out what is happening and get just get involved, then work on breaking down your negative beliefs. Just step out of your cave. Mr. Right and Mrs. Right will never meet each other if you each stay in your caves looking out the window.

Amen Sheri! The only baggage I desperately want is the one on the carousel at the airport! The rest I want to dispose of.....and quickly! You're right, we have the choice of holding on to our baggage or working at getting rid of it. Sometimes we have to take risks, step outside the comfortable square, or in my case...step out of the self imposed cocoon that I had wrapped safely around me. Once I got out.....wow I discovered there is a very cool world out there......aint no going back thats for sure!!

Hello,

I know you got the itch and a potiential love prospect. I am so happy for you. Also, know that I appreciate you stopping by my blog. My computer cannot handle the smilies so every time you stop by I do smile. So, I thank you and give you a hug. Baggage, I understand...just get it on the plane somehow right! I feel you and hope you get that baggage on the plane to meet up with your Trucker guy friend, Sean soon. It looks like a match from heaven and I wish you all the best of luck. I feel your excitement!

Take care my friend and come back if you feel like you can, I love it when you visit my home.

Angel looking 4 her wings.. I will loosen myself from what has held me in the past, and from all the things that claw at my soul and threaten to pull it away from Gods purpose.

In Him, I need never worry.
