Keep seeking that joy /peace and finding the lies that bind us...
John 14:27, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Wow, I just found this nugget in the scriptures and did it ever speak to me. It says:

I do not give to you as the world gives.

Peace I leave with you.


Oh to have that peace and joy down in my soul. How I long for peace and that inner joy to well up to overflowing inside me, again. Instead, I search in vain.

Didn’t Jesus say that He was leaving us with peace when He ascended into Heaven?

Then where is our peace?

How can we have that peace and joy in our life?

In the past I have made the mistake of seeking peace by trying to control my life, my circumstances and the people I love living under the idea that if I am diligent, plan properly, take care of details etc, that this is where I will find peace, joy or satisfaction in life.

Here are some thoughts to ponder on.


Why do we live under the lie that peace comes from these things?

Why do we want to control things around us?

What steps can we all take to lay down the control habit?

Where do we get these incorrect lies from that propel us in early adult life to think these thoughts?

May we all find that peace.....
