BLOG COLOR FOR BEGINNERS

Making a simple box is pretty simple you can test here if you want to learn how to do this, then try it on your own blog. I am not trained in this so it cannot be that hard. Let's start with a basic color box.

The first thing you do is pick your colors. Colors can be express as words such as blue, goldenrod, purple, black or as a combination of numbers and letters. You can get the number and letter codes by going to a website called visibone. There is a color wheel with these codes there which is free to use.

You can copy and paste this code below to see how it works. Then I will show you how to make adjustments to the box size later this week or you can experiment with changing the width to 80 verses 425 and see how it changes the shape of your color background.

After you have a basic knowledge of what each of the codes functions are then you can experiment and come up with some neat creations. There are lots of designs within this post that you are welcome to take. Just click on the quote button.

One last thing - The coding for designing and organizing the top of your blog mat is within this post, so feel free to use it.

Have fun playing.

SAMPLE SCRIPT:

[ center ][ bg height=100 width=425 bgcolor=33FFFF ]
[ Size 3 ] TYPE YOUR BLOG WORDS HERE.
[ /size ] [ /bg ] [ /center ]

P.S. You must delete the spaces by the brackets above after you copy it.

TYPE YOUR BLOG WORDS HERE.

If you go through all of the lessons I will teach you how to make this cross:

Hi, nice post. Also when it comes to background or text colors instead of using the hex code for the color you can use the name of color bgcolor=red or bgcolor=purple.

For a large variety of colors to chose from you can click on BC's help link at the top of the page. Then enter 'blog' in the search box and that will show more info about blog enhancements, plus include a color chart that you can use to cut and paste color names. An extracted portion of the chart is shown below:

Here is a box with a few outer color borders. You can experiment with the size by changing the height and width until you get the desired box dimensions.

Indescribeable replies on 9/20/2006 1:43 pm:
The interior color box will be the interior border with the lessor heigth and the outer box will be the border with the greater height and width. To make them even graduate them in the same increments depending on how many outer color borders you make.

[size3]I'm trying this but it will probably be wrong

Indescribeable replies on 9/21/2006 10:30 am:
Go back to the top where I have provided the basic script. Right click on your mouse and click copy, the script will be saved in your memory. Then go to the bottom and click add post. Right click your mouse again and click on paste. The script above will appear. Now look at the script and make sure that there are no spaces before and after the brackets. Close or delete any spaces. Hit the send button and see if it works. Good luck. I'll be watching.

Yes, you did. Now make the box biger by changing the numbers in the code.

Indescribeable replies on 9/21/2006 5:29 pm:
Yippie you did it. Now you need to learn to make the box bigger so you can put words into it. But you may want to just do this first.

Place a smilie character inside the little box by clicking on Siley Key code to the left and typing after your first color code command and before the tr command.
