ARE YOU CHASING TINY FISH?

I remember a story told while I was in Maui., something unusual happened on the shoreline. It seems that some whales came in too close to the shore, and then the tide went out, and the whales got stuck in the sand. Although this sometimes happens, it was unusual that there were so many at the same time. Even though there were efforts to save the whales and move them to safety they all died.

This type of phenomena is often researched by our bright marine experts who are trained in such activities of marine life. There were many opinions but the one that stands out the most was that these whales were chasing tiny fish. It seems that the whales were lost and have wandered into shallow waters out of their normal safe feeding ground.

Chasing tiny fish. Chasing something small and unimportant that could never fill there bellies for a full meal. It's the story of each one of us, too. How often do we seek after small things our lives, you know those unimportant things that cannot satisfy our desires?

I looked at a scripture tonight in the Bible and people were chasing after Jesus and the disciples, so much so that they were unable to find time to eat their meals. We find out later that these same people wanted Jesus as long as He would meet their physical needs of hunger and housing. But when they realized that He was most concerned about their spiritual needs, the Bible tells us that the people began to drift away. They were chasing after the less important things in their prayers. They were chasing after what the Lord could do for them, not what they could do for the Lord.

It’s the same with prayer, the Lord says in the Bible that we are to abide in him to get answered prayers. There are no fancy formulas or formats or ceremonies. It talks of no special prayer language. It instructs us to abide in Him. So what does he really mean to move mountains in prayer? What is your mountain? Is it your pride, your lack of food, your bad habits, a failed marriage or perhaps your poor health that you seek to make better. God calls us into deeper faith to move those mountains that cause unanswered prayer. Often times we pray to ask God to just make everything right. But God asks us to walk with Him in trust and faith.

Like the whales that beached themselves on the shores of Maui, they strayed from the areas that were designed for them to feed, they got off track for the sake of their bellies. Somehow I feel that in the last century many have gotten off track and strayed. Following new movements and pursuing better feeding grounds in how they pray and how they treat prayer for the Bible says to abide and through abiding our prayers are answered.

This last week I too saw something rare and unusual to me. As I was driving to work, I saw several, ( as in 100 or more ) cows grazing in the early morning. Then the strange part, I also saw one single mama cow in the middle of a separate pasture all alone grazing. I look to make sure the gate wasn't closed that joined the two fields, and it wasn't. Then as always my mind shifted and I was in another dimension. Not like a alien or scientific, I'm speaking of my mind set only.

Why was this one cow alone? Did she do something wrong? Was she sick? Did she even know she was alone?

Then this came to me. What were the other cows doing on that other side? Were they suppose to be there? Were they the one's that were lost? I can tell you this wasn't normal, cows are herd animals and tend to stay together.

All this brought me to my own life. Am I not like this single mama cow. The whole world about me, and I stand alone. I wonder if that cow is looking outside like I do. How sad, how strange, that the whole world is turning away from God.
{(Sheri)(Somehow I feel that in the last century many have gotten off track and strayed.)}
All green pastures around and no one wants to come.
John 4:35 ... Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
Like that one cow, I may be alone, but I thank my Father, for He never leaves me alone. And He blesses me with joy, peace of mind and happiness.

HOLY HOLY HOLY is my GOD!!!!!!!!!
