Obedience and the beginning of my faithwalk in Hawaii

When life seems like the barrel of apples has been tipped over and all of the apples are running all over the road. I normally am pretty sensitive to life's short comings, cry, pray then try to gather them back up and start over. Guess, I'm not a quiter. I try to find strengths in my strengths and minimize my weaknesses one baby step at a time. Feel like giving up? I do often. But, one must keep moving in faith. Just because you strive for obedience does not gain you favor with the Lord. Going to church alone, does not demonstrate obedience. Do you understand what I am talking about? Obedience is nothing more than a Christ-like lifestyle in how we treat people, how we conduct our life etc. Sometimes, it is difficult to discern exacting what is the proper course of action and when this happens I personally go to prayer on the subject. I view obedience as a striving to have the character qualities of Jesus. I do not feel that the Lord would want anyone to use his graciousness for their benefit nor let the talents that He has given us go to waste. After years of service to others and family, I picked up my talents and desires and dreams and did something for myself. At this stage in my life, I was totally helpless to His desires for my life and where He was going to guide me. Yes, I was technicallly by world standards home-less, car-less and had two suitcases. It was a liberating feeling when I stepped off of the airplane in Hawaii. I felt like I was in heaven and I embarked on my journey of obedience and trust actually allowing Him to direct my every move. Actually, it was quite fun removing all of the self-imposed life baggage for the first time in my life. I asked myself, was I being irresponsible in my actions? Was I being selfish? What really was my true motivation that drove me there? These things I will share as I blog along on this journey.

I suddenly feel like just jumping on a plane and going somewhere - free! Except, I've been there, nothing/nowhere is free.

Blue waters and great colors of everything shows God's handiwork! Loved the view from Diamond Head too!
