Heaven on earth? Sometimes the "kingdom of heaven" is thought of as simply being a reference to heaven itself, and that what the Lord and the 12 apostles were preaching about was simply the issue of heaven and how to get there. With others it is thought to be a reference to a spiritual reigning of God in the hearts of men which results in transformed lives and eventually in a transformation of Israel. Some view it as a destination which will be full of beautiful fields and beautiful mansions while others view it as a place within our souls happening now. Some think that heaven is earth and others think it is something is the third heavens that we have yet to see. Jesus said, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand." What does this mean to you? ![]() (¯`•♥•´¯) ¤`•.♥.•´ ¤ (¯`•♥•´¯) |

I have heard about heaven being on earth too. I heard a sermon on it a couple of years ago and it was really interesting. I think it might be true, although I have no scripture, other than what you said, to back that up. I should see if I can find that sermon!

It means- "If You follow my instructions- and DO exactly what I tell you to do- you will see heaven unfold right before your eyes." and He meant what He said. WE in today's world believe we must die first to "go there"- Jesus specifically said otherwise. ![]() ![]() ![]() Best part about it- If we ever do - DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO what He taught them to do back then- we'll finally understand why He made the promises He did make. ![]() ![]()

This has always been a big question for me as well. I have been reading of this very thing in the Gospels lately. So, as for my understanding to what the Bible says of this is that the Kingdom of Heaven is within us. But, there is also a heaven after our physical death. I am very much interested in what others have to say and I may post more on this later. Love you sister! May God Bless You in ABUNDANCE

My idea of the Kingdom of Heaven or Kingdom of God was formulated years ago, while I have changed many things I once believed, the Kingdom of God stays pretty much the same. In order to have a Kingdom, you need 4 things. (1) a King (2) Territory (3) Those Ruling (4) Those being Ruled (1) When Jesus Christ returns, he will be the King of Kings (2) He will reign on the earth for a thousands years. When the new heavens & new earth comes he will reign there too -- forever. (3) Those who are in Christ will reign with him at his coming. Some will have 10 cities some 5 cities. Remember the disciples arguing about who would be greatest in the Kingdom? (4) Christ and his saints will be ruling over those people on the earth. If I remember correctly, Satan will be bound until the 1000 years is over. Some things you mentioned above could be very much part of it. "The kingdom of heaven is at hand." Jesus was the representative who came from the Father to announce the Kingdom of Heaven. He was setting the ground work for establishing the Kingdom of Heaven. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.

To understand this, it's important to understand the difference between the physical Kingdom and the Spiritual Kingdom. Without first being part of the spiritual Kingdom we will not inherit any Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is spiritual, it's within us, without which we will not see the Kingdom of Heaven. Spiritual Kingdom: Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Physical Kingdom: Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Jesus himself was the Kingdom of heaven at hand! Who saw him, saw the Father. Though the Holy spirit was not yet given... Hence- even spiritually- Jesus is not and can not be the kingdom itself. And yes- the HS was not here yet, but that is incidental to the issue of "heaven on earth" as Jesus was presenting the physical kingdom. ![]() ![]() ![]()
