Barbie Christians Brethren: Isaiah (53:2) writes that Christ “hath no form nor comeliness (“hadar” Strongs #01926 meaning “ornament, splendour, honour, majesty, glory"): and when we shall see him, there is no beauty (“mareh” Strong’s #04758: "appearance") that we should desire him. He had no physical attractiveness that we would consider striking that would make us want to get to know him. None. Zero. Zip. Nada. Christ was not the airy-fairy imaginative figure we have painted him to be in our illustrations: handsome, gentle face, soft hands. That’s Christ the myth. Of Saul it is written (in 1 Sam. 9:2) that he was “a choice young man, and a goodly (“towb” Strongs #02896 meaning “pleasant, agreeable"): and there was not among the of Israel a goodlier (“pleasant, agreeable” ![]() Brethren: are you looking for the Barbie or Ken Christian; a Christian equivalent of Saul? Would you know the difference between one who was good and one who was good only in appearance? God help us, everyone. |
