Why we should be honest David said in Psalms 15, "He who walks uprightly and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart; he who does not backbite with his tongue..." is one who can dwell in the Lord's tabernacle. Let's face it GOD does know what men think and feel - no matter what they say to the world. He cuts right through the menutia to convict us with His Holy Spirit if we are not speaking the truth. At times, when faced with adversity, we need to take a spiritual inventory to ensure that we are behaving like the saints He expects us to, so that our light can shine before men in such a way that they know we are different from the world. David goes on to say in Psalms 119, "With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You." By absorbing his Word into our lives we can constantly be on guard to move away from the behaviour that keeps us from pleasing our heavenly Father. David prayed: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, oh Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. Paul prayed: Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Chris Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
