Why not JUDGEMENT, ....for it shall come .... What has happened to the good ole fashioned days of men!!! of God...do you remember ..it made you to have a refereant fear of God Almighty ..why NOT today, ??? Did you know that the certainty of Judgment to come is the greatest motivation for us to repent of our sins, place all their confidence in the Lord Jesus, and lead holy lives? If this be the case, then why aren't more Preachers dealing with this subject? THEY DO NOT WANT TO HEAR THE TRUTH OF GOD, SPEAK THE TRUTH OF GOD FOR FEAR OF MAN, WANTING PEOPLES MONEY, PROSPERITY PREACHERS, LORD HAVE MERCY IN THE NAME OF JESUS!`! Could this be the reason why so many today are hardened in their sins, walking in unbelief, and living in gross immorality - and not even caring enough to do anything about it? The consideration of an upcoming Judgment definitely has an effect on people. The Scriptures point out that the concept of an appointed day of accountability and recompense causes men to repent of their sins and turn to the Lord Jesus for salvation. Knowing that there are STORMS* ahead causes them to flee to a place of safety - where the foundation is sure. It is our duty to live our lives PLEASING, YES O SAINTS, pleasing to God, amne! So why aren't more people dealing with the subject of Judgment? For one thing, it's not a very popular subject with men. Nonetheless, it is one that God has ordained to bring about a lasting effect in the hearers of the Word. Why is it so hard to change our ways mans ways to follow Gods ways? to change our ways and follow His plan of salvation, yes Lord yes... instead of that of man, the world, and the devil. The Scriptures tell us - As for God, His way is perfect..."(Psalm 18:30). What He has outlined in the Scriptures will work. It will bring about lasting results in the people. It's time that the Preachers stop following every new idea, plan, motive, and incentive that comes along and get back to the Good "Old-Fashioned" Preaching of Judgment To Come. Look what it does people this is sc+riptural, amen God doesnt say anything He doesnt mean, we as the people of God need to wake up Arise ...like never before, Glory be to God, AWAKE, AWAKE, AWAKE YOU WHO SLUMBER, FOR YOUR REDEEMER DRAWS NIGH UNTO YOU Look what is brings to us and to tohers... REPENATANCE... Acts 17:30-31 - nd the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead. There was a time when God passed by - as if not to notice the idolatries of men. He didn't yet restrain the people by sending prophets to them with a word of rebuke nor did He punish or deal severely with them for their sins - simply because of their ignorance. Nonetheless, now He commands ALL MEN EVERYWHERE TO REPENT IN THE NAME OF JESUS. ALL called to break off from their idolatries and bind themselves to the worship of the True and Living God. They are called upon to change their ways, views, designs, and practices. With great sorrow and utmost shame, they are to turn from every sin and wholeheartedly resolve to do that which is pleasing in the sight of the Lord. What particular motive stirs men to such a decision? Paul clearly shows that for us when using the word - BECAUSE... And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth ALL MEN every where to repent: Because... Men are called upon to REPENT because... They are admonished through the Word to leave off all idolatries and turn to the Living God "because"... They are to manifest great sorrow for their sins "because"... BECAUSE WHY... Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead. God has ordained a day - a fixed time - a day of recompense - in the near future when He will call into account every MAN, BOY,WOMAN, AND GIRL, for the things which He has given them in this life. According to the righteous standards of His Holy Word or Law and as the appointed Judge of the whole earth - the One and Only One capable of such a task because He was raised from the dead - He will call all into account for every single thought, word, and deed. Look at this ... it does bring a faith in God, Halleluyah!!!! Isaiah 28:16-17 - ttherefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. In this day and at this hour, women/men are in one of two categories. They are either on the side of those whose Faith in God is as a "sure foundation," or they are on the side with those whose life is depicted as a REFUGE OF L;IES What basically determines the strength of the FOUNDATION on which we all stand? The Word of JUDGEMENT AND RIGHTEOUSNESS.... This Word is likened unto the tools of an architect in building a structureyes indeed Lord... JUDGEMENT IS THE LINE USED FOR MEASURENMENT, AMEN.. "Righteousness" is the "plummet" - an instrument which consists of a piece of lead attached to a string - determining its straightness and exactness. I speak this to you this boldly in Christ, Preacher of Judgment to come is comparable to a builder who is determining the strength of his structure by its FOUNDATION. Whenever he preaches the Word of Judgment, he brings men to the realization of wherein their Faith lies and just how strong their FOUNDATION IS-----> to withstand the HAIL or FLOODS of WATERS - typifying God's future wrath and vengeance coming upon this ungodly world. Since the principal weight of a building rests on its corners, it is vital that the CORNER STONE, BE THE MOST SOLID, GLORY BE TO GOD!LARGEST,AND FIRMEST STONE USED, THANK YOU JEsUS! It must be it must be a firm and sure foundation- one that can withstand and endure all types of storms and tempests. The Word of Judgment to come causes men to forsake their refuge of lies for the sure foundation IN CHRIST JESUS~ . It provokes them to desire to be the believer who does not MAKE HASTE, AMEN! In other words, no matter what the future holds - even in the midst of great assaults from the enemy, storms that will try his Faith in God, or God's shakings amidst this earth - he will have no reason to be alarmed, ashamed, or flee - for his FOUNDATION is sure and secure. We will for God for it cause us holiness for living, praise God 2 Corinthians 5: 9-11 -Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord... 2 Peter 3:11,14 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness...Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless. Nothing provokes the believer to his duty before God as a Word of *Future Judgment and Accountability. Nothing stirs him up to greater care and diligence - to be ambitious, strive, exert himself - in fulfilling his responsibility before God and men than KNOWING THEREFORE THE TERROR OF THE LORD and that WE MUST ALL APPEAR BEFOR ETHE JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad... Paul described it this way - ..we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him..." Is this not true are we not seeing it ever more in this day and age... Without a Word of Judgment from the Preachers, or people that the Body of Christ tends to fall into a slump of laziness and slothfulness concerning their obligation and main objective to live pleasing in the sight of the Lord. Without this Word, we fail to realize that we are for true responsible for our or their every thought, word, and deed and will have to give an account for each ...before the judgment seat of Christ...yikes! Without this constant reminder of the certainty of Judgment to come, we do not improve on our talents and privileges but conduct ourselves sadly... as the man who buried his talent in the ground. Lastly, we lack the Fear of God which continuously reminds us that the secret things of their heart and life will be made manifest on that day. I love Paul as He was bold for the sake of Christ....Paul was definitely a Preacher Of Judgment. And so was Peter. Then why aren't all of the Preachers and people whom know the written word of God likewise today? Look what Peter had to say - eeing then that all these things shall be dissolved..." What will be DISSOLVED? The heavens and the earth. THAT SOUNDS LIKE JUDGEMENT DOESNT IT??? What kind of result should this knowledge have upon us as believers? Peter explains - ..what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness...Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless." Contemplating an awful time of Judgment to come should stir us up to live holy, godly, and useful lives, it does me for true as this world gets uglier by the day, indeed yes Lord yes.... We should be sobered and humbled by these Truths. Our minds should be set on things above and not on things of this earth(Colossians 3:2 knowing that they are soon to pass away. Again, what are the effects of the Preachers preaching a Word of Judgment to come? REPENTANCE from sin and all idolatries and a turning to God in sincerity and truth; The turning from a reliance on a REFUGE OF LIES to the SURE FOUNDATIONOF CHRIST JESUS, PRAISE GOD!AND a greater responsibility and accountability among believers to live holy and pure lives - so as to be pleasing in God's sight and win His approval and favor. With that in mind, the HOLY SPIRIT SAYS, PEOPLE, PREACHERS, AND YOU,O SAINTS OF GOD hear the Word of the Lord to you this day! Preach on Judgment! Whether the people hear or forbear, preach on Judgment!WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT PREACH IT INTO ALLLLLLLLLLLL THE WORLD WE ARE TO PREACH ON JUDGEMENT, AGAIN!!!!! preach on Judgment! No matter what the immediate response, preach on Judgment! IT SHALL BRING A REPENTANCE, IN THE NAME OF JESUS!!! CHOOSE THIS DAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE... HALLELUYAHHHHHHH!!!!! It's God's designated and ordained way to prepare His people for the days ahead, PRAISE GOD FOR HIS WORD... May God Bless His Word.

Amen. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2For men shall belovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blaspemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. II Tim. 3:1-5. We are witnessing all of these things right now. These are the last days. We must be ready, the Lord is coming soon, could be sooner than we think.

Lorrie - thank you sister for this post - too many times people just want to deny God's wrath - and speak of only comforting things!!! But God is not a wishy washy God who can be manipulated and controlled that way. And the truth will be known to His people and He will call us all home one day to be with Him. AMEN!!! My heart goes out to all of those with false doctrine and who cleave to unbiblical beliefs and partial truths. For their eternal home will be in torment forever and they will see the error in their ways but will be too late!!! REPENT!! I am going to continue to pray for those for I know that He is a compassionate, loving, forgiving God who can cleanse the heart of those who repent. But unfortunately - the stubborn and proud will not see the error of their ways - so look deep into your heart and deep into the word and pray for discernement to know the truth. Be blessed

Wow Lorrie, good message. You know you got me thinking because when I was younger I remember ministers being much more direct about sin. Adultery was preached against in church, as was alcoholism, gambling etc. I think some of that going by the wayside is okay because it was tied in more with legalism than grace, but as I read your post I thought about how it almost seems it's all gone by the way. We have such a focus now on love, being blessed, always asking more Lord, more... but are we taking the time to hear what He wants us to really share. Then I started to think about how, at about the same rate that the messages were being watered down so that love is the only message - yes a vital message, but God is more than just love, eg holy, righteous, jealous etc - sin has increased even within the church. Am I right or is it just my imagination? Balance needs to be brought back into the message we Christians give out - you are so right. Thank you for your courage and obedience each time God convicts you on a topic to share! Where are you?
