 Here's more on the same topic, a poem I wrote a few years' back.

~ Questions ~

Why does it often take a tragedy
before turning to God for attention?
why must one be at the end of a rope
for Him to receive an honorable mention?

Even as a child, I was filled with wonder
then once in my teens I discerned
there's far more to life than humans detect
and though the insight was painful, I learned.

Wouldn't it be great to take God at His Word
just because He's simply amazing?
rather than hasten to Him as a last resort
isn't He worth the sincerest of praising?

Is it risky for us to question the truth?
with that said, must we all have to know?
perhaps if we're faithful we'll recognize peace
without achieving some whirlwind plateau.

The thing that I covet the most right now
is a quiet and modest existence
with answers that come from that still, small voice
sometimes now, or off in the distance.
