Lean not on your own understanding

The world today is a living mess and with each new passing day it just seems to get worse and worse, Our natural curiosity is to figure it out then be capable of explaining this phenomenon to others to help them make sense out of all the
chaos around them

but is our job?? I'd like to think that if we understand things not seen we can in some capacity explain it to others struggling to make sense, But what if we can not make sense of it all? explaining is hard to do in that case,

My point here today is?

lean not on your own understanding, what we can do to help others in need even if it is a fraction is just as much a help, Let there be no lingering doubts as to you having played your part, We're all in the fight and when everyone does there part the whole thing comes together like a well-laid plan

Mikecrcrn. It is true that it is our duty as Sons of God, as far as we can help those in need, and also share the gospel and pray that their souls will be saved, God will support and work in their lives.
Blessings

Hi Mike,
What is happening in the world today isn't hard to explain. You just need the Scriptures mate.

John 12:31  Now there is a judging of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
John 14:30  I will not speak with you much more, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has no hold on me
1 Jn 5:19 We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.

So, who is the ruler of this world?
That is, not the ruler of the earth itself but the ruler of the political, commercial and religious world of mankind since the fall of Adam.
Eph 2:2 in which you at one time walked according to the system of things of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience
2 Cor 4:4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through
1 Cor 10:20 I say that what the nations sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers with the demons
Luke 4:5-7 So he brought him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the inhabited earth in an instant of time. 6 Then the Devil said to him: “I will give you all this authority and their glory, because it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 If you, therefore, do an act of worship before me, it will all be yours.”
Rev 13:2 Now the wild beast that I saw was like a leopard, but its feet were like those of a bear, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And the dragon gave to the beast its power and its throne and great authority
Eph 6:12 because we have a struggle, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places

So we can see that God has allowed satan to rule this world, this system of things with all its forms of rulerships and governments. Authorities not of God but of man.
The reason that now we see an increasing escalation of 'woes' is because we are now living in the end days as foretold by Daniel. That time when satan knows he is not far from his end. He hates and wants to condemn as many of us as possible.
Rev 12:12 On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing that he has a short period of time

The reason the 'good fight' is so hard is not only because we live in satan's system but also because without God's Spirit to help us we are ruled by the spirit put on us Adamic sin.
Gen 8:21 .....for the inclination of the heart of man is bad from his youth up;....
Eph 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are plainly seen, and they are sexual immorality, uncleanness, brazen conduct, idolatry, spiritism, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, dissensions, divisions, sects, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and things like these. I am forewarning you about these things, the same way I already warned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom

Eph 4:22-24 You were taught to put away the old personality that conforms to your former course of conduct and that is being corrupted according to its deceptive desires and you should continue to be made new in your dominant mental attitude, and should put on the new personality that was created according to God’s will in true righteousness and loyalty.
Eph 22-24 On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Moreover, those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed to the stake the flesh together with its passions and desires.

Oh, sorry I did not get to review my post beforehand Mike.
I hope this gives you a start of a good study.
There is so very much to learn.
By making comparative study using different Bible translations you can see the verses overwhelming evidence.
What I do know is that we cannot change the world of satan, we can help those in need when it is 'in our hand to do so' but we can 'endure' with joy this life we have, 'wait with expectation' for the 'coming of the Son of Man', 'pray continually' and 'have faith in the sure promises of God'.

Yours,
Katidid.

"Lean not on your own understanding"... Are we then to lean on the understanding of others?

We all have some understanding of God and the Bible. Hopefully not from what others told us to believe even the point of view of others can be an interesting add for getting more of the whole picture.

We as Christians suffer from the idea of being able to explain everything. War; natural disasters; divorce; bankruptcy; deceased; murder and so on. Often we try to use the Bible and make a lot of quotations - and loose the listener. We become religious instead of God-fearing.
Are we to explain everything? I don't think so. Because we do in fact take the role of God then. Some things we can explain and some of it we can even explain to others.

But much more important is to BE THERE for others. We are told to love one another, not to explain to one another.
And to stand in the gap for others. To care for others.

Blessings

Just for your information: your other visitor is a Jehovah's Witness who use to quote from a site run by Jehovah's Witnesses.

So be careful.

Those of us who are not Jehovah's Witnesses, as Christians, we must pray, for all men, because God wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy, 2: 1-4.
