I must be a legalist ...... God's law still holds true for many things. Christ came not to do away with the law, but to fulfill it. Some of the things on the list here are a mixed bag of righteous law and human confusion about righteousness. Personally I think this list is faulty......

Judgement Day will be interesting.

- And too many Christians still think it's okay to use the expression "too many Christians...".

"Too many"...

1) It makes a clear divide between themselves and "others" (the ones they spend a lot of time pointing out to be wrong) and at the same time tells how righteous they are themselves.

2) It point out a non-defined group of people without any proof of the postulate. Sectarians love the expression, because it will help them gaining what they are looking for: them and US.

- and by the way: SIN is as well ignoring truth pointed out again and again, but ignored because it doesn't fit into ones own theological ideas.
No matter what excuse is given for ignoring the truth.

sojourner i am a legalist in the sense that i believe GOds laws are still valid, that they point us to Christ and yes we are to try to follow them to our best abilities, However I DO not base my salvation on my ability to do those laws.. that is a works mentality, I am saved by grace,, not works,, although I try to do the works because I love God.. but my salvation is NOT dependent on works,,, that last post is intended to bring out a certain hypocracy I see in some members...The Law is our Guidebook to what sin is but it does not save us,, but some pick and chose among the law as to what they think is okay, thats the point i tried to make, either take it all or dont take it at all.

I know.
We have more or less the same view on things like this.

My comment "I think you forget the last reason you wrote for being a legalist...." was not concerning you, but all those protestants writing a lot of comments to your Post.

Seems like there are a lot of feet for the shoes....

Good post Restless. You just reminded us that salvation is by grace, and that's what Christ made possible cause mankind is not capable of complying with the Law.
