is the mark of the beast literal

I think some have a general idea but even if it's a physical mark we can't avoid at least 2 sayings where Jesus says if you do this or not, that means someone is not going to heaven, and for certain people with the 666 are not going to make it. First, Christ indicated if one didn't exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees they wouldn't make it, and in another place it says to be of God (the Father) one must love your enemies. Now tell me how can one not make it to heaven if they don't love their enemies or exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees. Because usually a refusal to do this is because of 'money interest', and that totally connects to the saying that no one could buy or sell unless they have hate, and unless they have a religion based on the rules of men. They won't make it heaven as Jesus said.

Hi

666 has always been a thing, people/Christians would like to know what is.
Nobody has so far been able to give the answer to what is meant.

If you look at the righteousness of the Pharisees - well we have to admit it was not worth boasting of.

E.g take a look at Matthew 23:1 – 23:15 (at time being you can find it at my Blog).
Jesus is repeatedly blaming the Pharisees for their lack of following that God they where assumed to be the followers of.
So Jesus tells us to do it better than them, if we expect to "get in".

Jesus says somewhere, that "if you only great your Friends, but the ones opposing you (Some call them enemies) what difference do you do then? Are you not just behaving as the people of the world do?

We are called to make and do a difference. And not only by behaving- talking- dressing- or anything else- odd.

666. I have a suggestion of what it might be. But I will never dare to say it is that way. But I think it is worth a consideration:

666 added to your hand and to your forehead. Without it you are not able to trade. No buying or selling. No grocery. No new car. No gasoline...

Actions are done by the hand (except from kicking someone's b**). So your actions are influenced by the mark 666. A way of treating others. A new way of what is good and what is bad.
Do like everybody else is doing. The "new trend". Maybe a set of new "the Ten Commandments". A the reversed one from "Racefan's" Blog...
That is the action.
The hand.

The head hides ideas; ideology; attitudes towards other people and so on.
Following some new ideas; ideology; attitudes towards other people the way of the "new trend"; the reversed commandments or something else. That is the mind behind the actions.
The forehead.

So one could call it having a mark on their hand and forehead, that leads/guides them through their actions and attitudes towards others.

Jesus is blaming His surroundings for their lack of compassion for others, and for their lack of deeds towards those who need a helping hand in life.
OT is doing the same.

The Gospel of Christ is in many ways a revolution/reformation that doesn't bring any new things up. - Except of Jesus Christ being the ultimate sacrifice given for us, instead of the sacrifices that would have been necessary to bring for us. Now it is done. Once and for all (who will take it).
Jesus is repeating what already is said in OT. All of His discussions with the Pharisees. He just (more or less) keeps quoting OT.
But He sort of "dust off" the old message from OT.

...

Blessings
