rockyology

a LOT of people here have accused me of 'liberal' and/or 'protestant' theology. people claim I studied at an off the books seminary. neither is true.

I am not a liberal or a protestant, and in fact take issues with a lot of what either position believes. I purposely do not commit to any denomination or order. I take issue with a lot of what was taught at my seminary, and did not become ordained there. still, I did 4 years of a standardized MDiv program and learned a WHOLE lot bout the bible and the history of god.

I met an archbishop of a black church in jail and he is a very godly and intelligent man. he is going to ordain me in his church when he gets out.

ANYWAYS...I did my senior thesis on the fact that the bible NEVER uses ANY word that means hell and eternal punishment in the way in which we have come to understand it today. the ONLY threat is that the wages of sin is death. that is repeated a LOT. my teacher didn't like my paper, even though it was accurate and I only got a B- even though it was GREAT.

I don't think god is really about heaven or hell at all. people that reduce him to that are just morons and hurt the kingdom more than they help it.

god is SO much. he is love, he is light, he is right, he is comfort in the storm, he is a rock.....

well, if you know god, you know what he is.

he is NOT heaven or hell. not at all. this is an ignorant and harmful perspective.

I also pray for universalism, although the bible won't let me accept it. it seems to me that Christ's blood is strong enough to save everyone. period. but that isn't what the bible says. well, it says it sometimes, Christ died for all...but then there are other things said that require acceptance. I still want everyone to be covered anyway and I pray for it every night.

I try not to take the bible too literally. it really isn't important whether or not nit picking specific details of the narratives are true or not. what is important about the bible is the message. people that get all bent out of shape over noah's ark or job's trials just don't get it. it isn't the stories we are supposed to worship, it is the character of god that is illustrated by them.

"God only accepts who is perfect ?".

So therefore God only accept Jesus. Nobody else are perfect. And they will never be.

So what is a "small sin"?

To sin is to break the Law. Breaking one thing or another thing doesn't make any difference. You broke the law, and therefore you are guilty.

the bible doesn't separate sins into any categories.

sin is sin. period.

that 7 deadly sin crap is catholic invention.

I believe the context of the unforgivable sin is that if you don't got the friendly ghost, you can't be forgiven?

but otherwise? sin is sin is sin.

the word in greek is hamartia. it means to miss the mark, as in if you were shooting at a target and missed really bad. everybody misses the mark and needs to be forgiven.

and also, marky mark. fornication is NOT a sin in the bible. only those laws laid out in the OT are potential sin. anything in the NT is either re-iteration of those laws, or suggestion. there are no NEW laws in the NT. there could not be, else Christ could not have been perfect

paul was no prophet. he even says so often in his epistles.

NOTHING paul says is a NEW sin, else Christ would not have lived a perfect life..

ALL sins are laid out in the OT.

epistles are guidance, suggestions, theology. NOT law.

I pray for universalism because there are so many good people that don't know god.

I am secure in my own faith.

if you think that you don't sin, you are kidding yourself.
