DOES TRUE ATHEIST EXISIT? All I've seen so far are people who use the word "Atheist" as a shortcut to run away from the big question of life-where do we come from?,why are we here? and where do we go from here? Every humanbeing has in born nature that seeks after his/her creator-show me an atheist who when in danger would not call on God or any divine being for help |

Hi I think we first have to divide between Atheist and Agnostic. Atheists believe there is no God or god. That doesn't mean he/she don't have any moral or ethics. An agnostic can either say that it is not possible to achieve absolute spiritual knowledge, or simply that he/she does not have obtained this knowledge (yet). Agnostics do normally not try to convince other people if there is a God/god or not. They are not "interested" in spreading their point of view regarding God is not to be found. The Agnostics I have met had the attitude of "if there is a God it is okay with me, if there ain't it is okay too". Atheists believe there is no God/god and they are willing to do a lot for proving it. I have met a few ones in my life using a lot of energy and philosophy of their own or others to prove God/god does not exist. Especially when they found out I or others were Christians. And I have seen a few ones on Motor Bike Rallies behaving very threatening to others when they found out others were Christians. So to me it seems like they use a lot of energy and spend a lot of time thinking how they can prove God/god does not exist.: - If you came and told me there were Garden gnomes (not spirits - that's an other story) in your garden I think I would take it quite easy. And if you insisted on telling and believing they were there, it's okay with me. (and if you were a Christian then I... another subject). If you believing in there are Garden gnomes in you garden is ridicules to me, why then should I spend a lot of time trying to convince you they are not there? Especially if I am a man of no God at all?? Atheists spend a lot of time trying to convince others there is no God/god because they don't believe He exists... Why is it so important for them to use so much energy and time convincing others? And what makes them keep on telling again and again about God/god doesn't exist? So there is no real Atheist. Agnostic, yes. Quite understandable and to be respected. But Atheists? No way. Atheism is just an other man maid religion trying to chance focus from Jesus. I do find atheists interesting, because they are thinking so much of God and how to avoid the thought of Him existing. Getting through their fog of man-made arguments and into the real man behind the mask of arguments. I don't use to argue with them against their arguments. Attacking a man's conviction. That's a waste of time. But reaching out and meeting the real man. That's good. Hi Peacebestillamen I like your Post above, and I do agree in all of it. I don't have the experiences of yours dealing with dying people. But God is showing Himself to me exactly as you have described. God keeps pursuing people until they give up and give their life to Him - or die. And He is willing to go very far for reaching that goal. We look at the life here and now and what comes out of it - who wouldn't? But God has the view of eternity that is hard for us to keep in mind. If we could keep that eternity in mind all the time we wouldn't commit sin - or commit the sin of being proud we do not sin.
