Mind over matter theyre frequented to say,doubting I am on things that they say.Pain is a ally that never departs,surely youll see it as each new day starts.My bodys been battered,beaten and broken to sum it in words has never been spoken.No parades or shouts of glory and praise,erases the horrors that haunts all my days.Honor was mine for following orders,as we crept through the trenches and over the borders.Now I look back and its always the same,was it quite worth it for now I am lame.Vividly I see all of the faces,contorted in horror in all the right places.Watching a man as he draws his last breath,will never forsake you until the promise of death.Which hurts more the tongue or the sword,is surely a question that comes from the Lord.His eyes full of love,a smile on his face,welcome home ,this is the place.Roads of gold and angels that fly, surely will bring a tear to my eye.Men walk closer as in to greet me,friends Ive lost are smiling so sweet.I cry in joy as my dear Mother hugs me,reward is yours as promised to thee.
