Tomorrow Is My Birthday

The older I get the happier I am. Tomorrow it is 67 years for me. I can't wait until 70. Then I will really feel like a senior citizen.

These cable cars in San Francisco has always held a fascination for me. I like history for some reason. Maybe its that I feel a connection with the past, and less some with the future. Don't ask me to explain that. I am a mystery even to myself at times. Much of my life has been trying to understand.

Some of the mysteries are no longer hidden to me. Ego formation was one of the worst things that happened in my life and the importance of relationships is one of the best things.

I always thought aging was a negative. But, my experience is that it is a positive. At your young age you probably can't know this yet.

What does a person think about on their birthday? For me I think about how I was when very young and how I am now coming full circle. What happened in between was a long unhappy experience of learning how false are the values of the world and how true are interpersonal values. It is not easy perhaps, but it is okay for people to take off their mask. The real you is a beautiful creation, much better than the misrepresentation we often present to the world.

Thanks for the best wishes. I am headed to a pancake house with my darling daughter and new wife to celebrate.

My past, present, and future from the perspective of 67 years is quite interesting to me. I can see the blessings your are talking about. Many things helped to shape my life as it went along, from people, environment, philosophies, religious divisions, colleges, marriage, books and more all played a part. My core personality never changed except to slowly mature, but ego changed a lot.
