Hazing

Humility is a good thing. Hazing has a long history of humiliating people all across society organizations all around the world from frats, sororities, military, to many group initiations. Why? Group membership bestows blessings unearned on initiates by virtue of the membership. Also, hazing can be a test of the mettle of the new member as in military organizations. The purpose can be good, but the extremes can kill and have done so.

We humans have often learned the hard way to find balance in our activities. Too much can cause more harm than good in some instances. Hazing has its purpose and place in my opinion. Just ask the initiates who have gone through it. Some will say it was a good thing, some will say it was too much for the purpose. I wish the organizations would see the news items on the results of extreme hazing and adjust their activity before the law has to step in and do for people what they fail to do for themselves.

The stairway the movie stars climb on oscar night to the auditorium. Even actors/actoresses have gone through hazing experiences.

Ye, a picture of me on the steps the movie stars climb on the way to the auditorium of Oscar night. You made so many good points about hazing that I will just say thank you. Humility is good for us, but often very difficult to achieve. Our pride is hard to break. Usually, in my experience, life has to break it for us to save us. I am in the USA now. I landed last week in LA, then went to San Diego, and on to Las Vegas, and now am in San Francisco as of last night. Today I will tour around and maybe see the Golden Gate Bridge, Napa valley some, and hope to see the intersection of Height St. and Asbury St. where the hippie revolution started in ernest back way before you were born probably, 1968. From here in a few days I fly to Texas.

At Haight & Ashbury street corner I saw and remembered the hippie movement that changed me and the rest of the USA. In my opinion the revolution in personal relationships they began has continued to the point that now the breaks need to be applied. In my opinion this is what the Occupy Wall street movement is about as the purpose seems to be to bring back enough regulations to make the economy and job market fair to everyone. The Hippies gave us the freedom of expression we needed, and the Occupiers will give us the regulations we need for fairness. I talked to some of the Occupiers and gave them encouragement and thanks for the price they are paying for all of us.
