The Power of the Good News

By Max Lucado
“Do the work of telling the Good News.” 2 Timothy 4:5

For every hero in the spotlight, there are dozens in the shadows. They don’t get press. They don’t draw crowds. They don’t even write books! . . .

Behind a rock slide is a pebble. And a revival can begin with one sermon . . .

Tomorrow’s Spurgeon might be mowing your lawn. And the hero who inspires him might be nearer than you think. He might be in your mirror.

footnote:
And you might be the only Bible your neighbor reads....what are they seeing/reading? Are you showing them Jesus? When a non Christian comes here what are we showing them? Love? Discord? Peace? Turmoil? Light? Darkness? God has chosen us to be a light. Is your light shining in this dark world or are you adding to their darkness. Think about it darlin'

Hi Elizabeth, I was talking with my pastor yesterday and he quoted me this scripture. I'm not sure if it applies here but it may, so I thought I'd add it to your post. God bless!

"Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife." Proverbs 26:20-21

Sounds good to me.
