A List of Inexpensive Gift Ideas:

Well if you are poor like I am, hahaha, always looking for ways to get some nice gifts for your friends and family without going into much further debt, hope these get you started, cheers.

Make a trivet from a collection of wine corks, cut to even lengths and glued to square or other shape of pegboard.

Refrigerator magnets.

Make bath salts by coloring and adding scent to epsom salts; put in a pretty bottle or glass.

For friends with a fireplace or woodstove a log carrier made from canvas or possibly denim, and pine cone fire starters (pinecones partially dipped in wax).

Picture frames or small mirror decorated with seashells, decoupage, buttons, or other.

Homemade candy sampler.

Other "specialty" food (examples: breads, cookies, pickles, jams or jellies).

Handmade stationery (perhaps decorated with rubber stamps, dried flowers, sponge painting, cut-outs with craft knife). You could also
make letterhead type stationery on your computer.

Cross stitch bookmark; sampler; pillow top book of family favorite recipes.

Knit a scarf, mittens or even a sweater if you're really ambitious!

Build a bird house, letter box, magazine holder

Earrings or other jewelry, made with shells, feathers, Fimo craft clay, or other, and mounted on jewelry findings (these are really cheap
at craft stores).

Crocheted afghan.

May the Lord bless you and keep you

That is the only toy I will get this year. Instead of buying
toys for myself, I am spending the money buying food for the
food bank at my church. It seems more important.

I gave all my clothes that are too big now to the church also.

Didn't want you to think I was selfish.

you are so right goldens, i am amused at myself as i get older, when i was younger and i use to watch certain family members give presents like this and i just thought how cheap they were or something like that. i use to watch the elders act like you describe your mother and thought for the most part they were acting. as i got older and poorer, hahahaha, and had to come up with creative ideas to give presents as well as receive presents i have learn it is the thought and as you point out the effort that would go into making something like that and i also cry as i appreciate them so much more, anybody can buy something in the store, but it takes energy, love, time and so much more to put into something you create out of your own two hands, cheers and God bless you

May the Lord bless you and keep you

Bill,

very cool. I am going to try some . I did this before and most people enjoyed them.

Other ideas a family calendar with pictures and memorabilia glued on.

beaded necklaces or bracelets.

for guys. a pendant on a black cord.

for the grand parents....hand prints or foot prints of grandkids in
plaster and decorated and painted.

I will get some more later

thanks bro, sincerely, Lisa
