What is my responsibility to the poor? The desires of lazy people will be their ruin, for their hands refuse to work. They are always greedy for more, while the godly love to give! Proverbs 21:25-26 NLT It is possible to give freely and become more wealthy, but those who are stingy will lose everything. The generous prosper and are satisfied; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. Proverbs 11:24-25 NLT Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor. Proverbs 22:9 NLT Greed is never satisfied because self is at the center of its world, and the self is forever taking, grasping after whatever is beneficial to "me." A person secure in the love of God approaches life with quite a different attitude: Because I am sure that God will take care of me and provide all that I need, I no longer have to be greedy, desperately looking out for myself and grabbing everything in sight. Ultimately, greed is a sign of emptiness. If you find yourself grasping after things in life, worried that you won't get what you want, what you need, or what you deserve, you have put your trust in the wrong place. Greed will use you up without giving anything in return. God's great love offers us a fuller, more satisfying life. May the Lord bless you and keep you |

Yes. And a penniless person has nothing to offer someone else who is also penniless. What Jesus was sent to teach is a perfect cure for poverty as well as the sin that often times comes with it. To call having money or getting money "greed" is to slap God in His face since HE is the one who provides the money in the first place. If you don't HAVE ENOUGH TO FEED THE POOR AROUND YOU- and STILL say you are in God's will... after JESUS taught you how to receive massive abundance- who is to blame for the poor going hungry? Who is to blame when they sleep in the rain or snow? Are we so HOLY in our sanctimonious false faith about GREED and all of that - that we can NOT OBEY GOD FOR LACK OF RESOURCES? Jesus made us PROMISES that IF WE OBEYED HIM AND DID WHAT HE SAID TO DO- we could indeed ALL band together in ONE MIND, ONE SPIRIT and ONE JOB- and get the job done. HE did it. He said we could do better than even HE did. So what is holding us back? Do we call "NEED" GREED when the NEED WE MUST FILL IS SO MASSIVE THAT WE NEED GOD'S REAL ABUNDANCE TO FILL IT??? Jesus taught us how to FIX IT. Maybe it's time we figgered out what exactly HE TAUGHT. IF feeding the poor means we HAVE TO BE CALLED GREEDY OURSELVES SO WE CAN GIVE IT AWAY- so be it. Let them call us all sorts of things FALSELY FOR HIS NAMES SAKE- and let's end this nonsense about refusing to take up our crosses and LIVE WITH BEING CALLED GREEDY SO WE CAN DO WHAT JESUS SAID TO DO. Easy eh? Feed His sheep. Not sit on our butts and "pray" for them. Faith without works is dead... ain't it? So is prayer when WE CAN DO WHAT WE WERE TOLD TO DO. ![]() ![]() ![]()
