Go Back To The Beginning “I Am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8. There is only one place to begin and that is at the beginning. It is here that we find God. His word brought the heavens, the worlds, and all the galaxies into being. With His divine power He flung them into space. This is the greatest fact in all history. “In the beginning God” are the first words of the Holy Bible, and at the beginning of each new day this truth is the hope to which we can cling without possibility of being deceived. If we begin today at any other point than God, we are certainly going to miss the way. But with God at the beginning and at the end we must succeed. Men often hate one another, countries try to swallow each other in mad pursuit of something that they themselves do not fathom, and the whole world appears to have no scheme, no valid plan. But brilliant as one shining star cutting clearly through the blackness there flashes the truth that God is the beginning and the ending. Only He is Redeemer. Only He offers forgiveness. Only He offers an alternative. Only He embraces eternity. Yes, He is everything. You ask, “Where will today end? And tomorrow?” God is the answer to every questioning, every need. These words were aptly written by M. Louise Haskins: “And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: ‘Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.’ And he replied: ‘Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.’ So I went forth, and finding the hand of God, trod gladly into the night.” Trust Him for He will never leave you, nor forsake you.
