"Don't rightly know ."

Shane and I went fishing one day. While they were out in the boat, Shane suddenly became curious about the world around him. He asked me, "How does this boat float?

I replied, "Don't rightly know ." A little later, Shane looked at me and asked, "How do fish breath underwater?"

Once again I replied, "Don't rightly know ." A little later Shane asked me, "Why is the sky blue?"

Again, I repied. "Don't rightly know ." Finally, Shane asked me, "Dad, do you mind my asking you all of these questions?"

I replied, "Of course not, you don't ask questions, you never learn nothin'."
