That was interesting to read.

But I think the first thing to realize, is that all people are counterfeit. We're complex multi-dimensional beings, and as long as we continue to judge the world through black and white film, we'll never find genuine. We'll always be disappointed. There is no complete perfection, with concrete wrong; we will always be marking the counterfeit box.

Genuine, is all gray..and so hard to comprehend.

Martha, I will have to respectively disagree with you. Everyone is not a counterfeit. There are some genuine individuals out there. Their yes means yes and their no means no to quote part of James 5 12. Maybe I misunderstand what you're version of a counterfeit is. But it doesn't seem to fit into the context of this post on Christian dating.

The counterfeit I am referring to is anyone who we become involved with romantically, who was not chosen my God. I hope this clears things up a bit.

Yo Rocky... (said in a Brooklyn accent) LOL I've wanted to make that movie reference for quite a while. Couldn't resist the temptation this time. Next thing you know, you'll be screaming for Adrian!

Thanks for the compliment. Sometime I have to remind myself that God is in charge. Writing this post helped me clear my mind to His Will. I'll jet over to your post and write a response.

Hi Scottie,

I agree with you. And Jesus did say "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things (including a mate) will be added to you."

Merry Christmas Jim! Thank you for affirming my post. That verse from Matthew 6 33 is one of my favorites and has gotten me through a lot of dark times. His Word never fails us, although sometimes we fail ourselves by taking our eyes off of Him. Maybe I need laser surgery to sharpen my focus and a swift kick in the southern hemisphere to keep me from hopping off the path!

May you have a blessed Christmas and joyous New Year!

Scottie

I don't think you need a swift kick anywhere. You sound like you have everything in it's proper perspective. And it's great to see.

GBU and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Awwww... shucks, Jim. That's enough to have anyone dig their toe in the sand. But my vision does get clouded with romantic notions. My heart and my senses betray me from time to time. A good 2X4 to the backside sometimes can wake me up!

Well, I better get a giant shoehorn to help me get my head through the doorway.

Merry merry Christmas to you and yours this week and throughout the year! Scottie

Ahhh, thanks SO much Rhonda. I appreciate your kind words and if this post helps your daughter or anyone who reads it, that would be an answer to my prayers. Maybe others will be spared some pain and experience real spiritual gain by staying focused on the Lord instead of our dreams. Not to say that we shouldn't dream. Just to keep all in proportion and have God stay in the top spot with our thoughts, words and deeds.

Have the Merriest of Christmases!

Scottie

I agree Scottie. Sometimes we try to fit a square peg into a round hole. The round hole being God's plan for us and the square peg being the man/woman we "think" is the right one for us. It is all in God's planning. Nope, me neither! I have never wanted a scooter. I want the shining red Royal Royce!

May God Bless You in ABUNDANCE

OH, PJ! You made me laugh and laugh with that Rolls Royce comment. I have made enough mistakes with romantic partners to put my life in God's hands. I know He has our best interests at heart. Well said about the square peg into a round hole. Amen and AMEN Sistah! God bless you dear! Now where can I get a PJ Fan Club T-shirt?
