Ut Oh............I think I messed up,,,,,,,,,,,will someone please help me???

I decided to make cookies today. I did not have all the ingredients so I left some out. Baking soda and baking powder. I figured it only called for a small amount so no big deal right? Apparenlty not. My cookies fell flat. I tried again. I decided since I did not have bakind soda, I would use something else. Pepsi. After all the genric name for Pepsi is soda right? Apparently not. My coolkies fell flat.

Was it diet Pepsi you used? I could see if it were diet Pepsi, which is less filling, it would make the cookies fall again, or thinner. Regular Pepsi, I would think the cookies would of been "fatter"?

LOL can't make cookies without one or the other.
My daughter called me the night before thanksgiving in a panic because she was in the process of making banana bread and pumpkin bread....it called for both baking soda and baking powder and she didn't have any baking soda.

I can't find it..I think Kev used it for laundry or something. I'm going to kill him! He's at work..even if I call him, I have the debit card so he can't buy any!!

I just told her to add extra baking powder..which is basically baking soda with cream of tartar. That worked. But adding pepsi? doesnt work so well. LOL

Try this cookie recipe

1 cup of peanut butter
1 cup of brown sugar
1 egg
Mix well, scoop onto ungreased pan and press criss crosses in the top with a fork. 350 degrees for about 8 minutes.
OR instead of pressing with a fork. leave them as they are, then when they come out of the oven, press a hershey kiss into the top and theyll turn all crinkley around the edges.

Simple..and no baking powder or baking soda or pepsi needed. LOL

Baking soda is a good riser for cookies. Baking powder is a good riser for cakes, pastries, etc. But who cares if the cookies are flat - as long as they are edible, right!!! At least you dont put a can of hair spray in the freezer, only to find it a few hours later after it exploded!!!!

If you don't know me you haven't missed much - but if you don't know Jesus you've missed everything!!

Oh ok, No baking soda or baking powder? I think I can do it let me try. Thanks for the recipe. I will be sure to criss cross the pan with a fork. But wait a minute, wouldn't a knife work better? How can I cut the pan with a fork? I will use a knife.

LOL free, after watching 20/20 the other day, I had to ask God to forgive me for what I did during home ec. I also prayed for the poor gal I picked on during that semester.
