God, How Many Fires Do You Have To Set??

"Take off your sandals for the ground you are standing is holy" -Exodus 3:6.

I love this scripture. "For the ground you are standing is holy". Moses was wandering around for quite awhile when God spoke this to him.

Do you think the ground all of a sudden became holy or that God made Moses aware that it's holy?

How about us? Are we passing burning bushes everyday, and because we're distracted or too busy, we miss them? What do we miss everyday because of our unwillingness to see what God has placed before us? Does he need to slap us along side the head with a burning bush before we get it??

I know the answer for me. Hence, the reason there are little firepits all over my front yard! If only I would "get it" when God gives it to me the first time, I would save myself some trouble. I pray that I will be more aware of the everyday presence of my God, that I won't ignore signs of Him, that He won't need to set fire to something to get my attention.

Greetings Grace,
Well I'm glad it was God visiting your front yard. I was a little worried it might be some of them hob goblin troll vagabonds making camp fires out front, as it approaches that season again.

God is so wonderful, for He knew I was sick with a cold the past few days, and could not venture out to water the garden, so He sent the rain to help, and a lot of lightning which produces real nitrogen for fertilizer, too. Been thanking Him for taking care of me this week.

But just remember, when God slaps ya upside the head, it is because He loves you, and wants the best for you. I believe it hurts God more then it hurts us though, for tough love, is hard, yet the only way sometimes.

No King but CHRIST JESUS!!!

Hi! God is so good...you are very right. He always knows what we need, when we need it. I want to be aware of him.......to know what HIS wants are for me. I don't think there have been little creatures making fires in my front yard....hmmmmmmmm. But that would explain the little packages of marshamallows I've been finding....
