Boat On A Peaceful Lake Floating Around

I'm taking a spiritual gifts class at my church. As I did one of the sections, there were 2 graphs that you made by the way you answered some of the questions. One was who you really are and the other was who you portrayed to others. The graph that I portrayed to others I thought was pretty accurate of who I really am - and I personality and a small C (life of the party, but concerned heavily with the "rules"). The graph that I really am was kinda flatlined and confused me. During one of the breaks I went up to the instructor and asked him about it. He looked at my "really me" graph and said "Do you have some major things going on in your life right now, something that make you feel directionless?" "Ummmm....yeah" He said that when we are going through some life changing events in our lives - leaving for college, being dumped 2 weeks before my wedding - it makes us feel like we have no direction. How weird that he could tell that just from looking at a graph. Anyway, he told me to take the test again in about a year and my results would be different. So, tomorrow morning I go back for more affirmation that my life is a boat in a peaceful lake drifting aimlessly!! How fun is that?

That doesn't sound too bad being in a boat just letting it drift where it may and enjoying the peace! And boy what a jerk!! Dumping you 2 weeks before your wedding. Just let me get my hands on him! Love you sister!

May God Bless You in ABUNDANCE

Yes, it is peaceful. A little lonely out here on the lake....good thing I have my computer!! Yeah, the whole marriage thing, it is a hugely long story. He does deserve a good slap in the head though. Not only for what he did to me - which if anyone has 4 hours, I can tell the story... - but for what he's doing to his life. It still breaks my heart. Anyway, thanks for offering to cause a little damage........I've thought of that too!! You are awesome!!

Smeimes places like you described can be a time to reflect on what we have and be thankful for it. hallelujah

I'm not quite ready to be thankful for some of the yuckiness as of late....I will get there. I know there is a lesson and I'm sure I will grow and learn, but when I'm in the storm, or on the outer edges of it as it's slowly passing by, it still hurts. I will praise him for being with me and carrying me. I would not make it otherwise.

Keep your eyes on Jesus and one day soon you will look back and realize he was with you and protecting you all that time! You may be drifting but God has a purpose in even that! Don't forget to forgive this other person so it doesn't eat away your peace and remember the scripture if we don't forgive how can God forgive us!

Oh, I forgive him. He had his reasons. I acutally talked to him tonight. I still love him, of course! He loves me, he just has some demons in his life that he needs to face. What I said above was just said jokingly. I would never hurt him! He was my best friend for over 2 years, it's just hard to let all that go! I've given it to God to let Him deal with it! Thanks for your concern friend!!

BUMMER!!! I hate it when that happens!! Say, want to have a date in a year to take the test together! I'll bet our graphs will be up and down and up and down by then!!

Sure, get back to me in a year. I sure hope it's not flat, then.

I know!! It's all good. I guess a nice peaceful lake is better than a river full of rapids!! I've been there a few times too and I'll take this any day!! Thanks David.
