"Can we question patriotism, today?"

"Can we question patriotism, today?" Let's move right past that question, of course we can question someone's patriotism. Traitor is a word in the dictionary, look it up.
There are some in our midst that hate America. By definition, they are anti-American. They celebrate the announcement of the deaths of troops, run down the nation at every turn. I'm at a loss to understand how these sad people could turn on the very nation that gave them so much. Do they have a special gene that fills them with hate at birth? Is it something they learned over time?
And how can it not sicken, or anger any real patriot watching? In a word, it is repulsive.
I'd like to think its simply personal dysfunction for many of them, their own lives so empty and dead, they've nothing left but dissatisfaction with everyone and everything - America simply existing as an easy target for their rage. But it's more than that. It's a bunch of people now banded together in some out of control crowd.
While I appreciate civility and modernity - it's also possible to miss what America must have been like 100 - 200 years ago. Back then we could simply drag this bunch of people out into the town square and hang them. This is America.
Don't pass Go, don't stop to collect your government cheese - go directly to the gallows, where all traitors went.
And, of course, were such sentiments written by a in the public education system we're supposed to rely on to educate the next generation of Americans, no doubt such a would be submitted for re-education, or worse.
America ‒ love it or leave it.

I am Patriotic. I believe in being loyal to my country. Any Politician that has slandered our soldiers such as John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, The Clintons, Barrack Obamma and John Murtha, and Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi. All should have been drug to the nearest gallow and hung until dead. It would only takeone for the rest to shut up.

I said nothing about "gallows"

You wrote this in your initial post:

With regards to the Patriot Act, you say you are against it. That's great! I am glad you support Constitutional rights.

Re: The War. I did not offer disagreement with the war itself. I asked you about Jessica Lynch, Pat Tillman and the WMD, among other things. Lynch and Tillman were casualties who were used for political purposes. THAT is the problem I have with the leadership. Not to mention they were used in a manner that was outright dishonest. And you just didn't respond to that.

I am totally fine with a an executive order banning abortion. If George Bush is pro-life, and wins the election, isn't that enough of a sign that most people want abortion gone? And as for voting, it wouldn't be decided there anyway. It will always ultimately be decided by the Supreme Court.

And I never said you were pro-anyone. I asked you about our Constitutional rights. You seemed to be against those who protest. And I said they are exercising their Constitutional 1st amendment rights. I also emphasized that this country was founded by Christians on Christian principles and our patriotism and loyalty should be to The Lord first. As I originally stated, your post was angry and expressing a lot of malice to people who disagree with your viewpoints and express them in public. I don't think that's against the Constitution and hating them and wanting them hung in public or thrown in the gallows is not Biblical.

I appologize...I did not pick up the "gallows" comment...though I do remember that traitors were hung...my mistake.

What an angry, venomous post! Wow.

Who do you know that celebrates the death of troops?? Please, name one American person you know who was happy to hear about troop deaths? Who are these people?

Are you a Patriot? Do you support the US Constitution or do you support every Executive order and Act that has taken diminished the 4th Amendment to nothing (like the PATRIOT Act)?

Do you hate people who say, oppose a war, and want them "thrown in the gallows" or do you actually support a 1st amendment right to free speech and civil disobedience that our Founding Fathers not only fought for but exercised on a regular basis?

Do you ever wonder about the fabricated Jessica Lynch story, Pat Tillman's death which changed versions 3 times, the Niger yellowcake story, the outing of Valerie Plame and subsequent lies used in cover up and the complete lack of WMD, or are we to overlook these things in the name of Patriotism?

Are you passionately pro-life but never question why in 8 years of having a strong, conservative Christian President there has been no executive order or federal law banning abortions?

When the declaration of Independence was written there were 27 Biblical violations alleged against the British crown. This inspired the writing. The Mayflower compact was completely based on Biblical principles. Maybe it's time to focus on America's loyalty and patriotism to God, then to some ideals being espoused by double talking leaders.

And before anyone makes any assumptions, I am NOT a democrat, liberal and would never vote for any of the Democrat candidates who were running for President. But I am 100% for America, its Christian founding and the American Constitution. God bless.

I said nothing about "gallows" and no, I don't agree with giving up our freedoms, ie...the patriot act. The ways of a man seem right to him, but the end there of leads to death.

The war...you might not agree with, but the dissension has and will continue to harm our troops. They should not be used to push a political agenda.

You would agree with such and executive order?...banning abortion. The voting booth is where that should be decided. Christian or not...this is the essence of our freedom. The people!

You have missed a lot of what I said. I am not "pro" any particular "man"... I am also not inclined to give my freedoms away to our government when in the end...it will be used against me. I am conservative.

Actually Paula, ever since becoming a Christian I have not been patriotic, otherwise I would have found it hard to make so many American friends from this site
