Faith AND Truth

Jesus said, `If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free`(John 8:31-32).

Notice it is the truth that sets us free, not our faith. Unless our faith is based on truth, it can bind us rather than free us. It can entangle us in all sorts of strange webs. More important than believing then, is believing the truth.

Our believing God is present with us does not make it true any more than not believing makes Him go away. Faith is not a means of getting God to be present and thereby do our bidding. It is rather the means be which we we see that He is present. Thus, faith plus truth equals reality.

Believing the truth leads us into reality. This in turn enables us to react appropriately which can make all the difference in the world. The truth may shake us up. It may disturb our little coffee times, but it can also save our lives.

Eph 2:10 We are his workmanship (poiema, or poem, or work of art) created in Christ Jesus.

God is an artist and you are His masterpiece!

The truth sets forth the grace of God, which love can rejoice in. (Col 1:6, 1 Cor 13:6)The teaching of grace which is the doctrine of God enables believers to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts so that we can live righteous and godly in this present world (Titus 2:11-12)

We shall know them by their FRUIT, no matter what they profess...
