RC: You have an amazing outlook on life. Thank you for sharing that with us. Paul faced persecution and imprisonment. He had every reason, by worldly standards, to be unhappy. Yet, he expressed this: "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:11-13 Paul provides the key to his contentment a few verses earlier, however: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 Like Paul, you have learned the secret to happiness: turn your problems over to God, and find contentment knowing He who is the creator of the universe, the beginning and the end is in control, and He will never forsake His promise to us that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
