Happy 4th... - My Civil War Love Song It's not Revolutionary and it has nothing to do with the signing of the Declaration of Independence... but it is a reflection of love and patriotism and fighting for what we believe in. Love and war... It's a bit of romantic irony that this is a love song inspired in part by the violent re-birth of our nation during the Civil War. I was inspired to write this years ago after seeing the Civil War documetary by Ken Burns. When it comes to war both men and women have given and sacrificed on and off the battle field. This song is a reflection of that- it's called... LOVE ENDURES In the summer of 1861 Betsy and Johnny had just begun their lives together They bought some land built a cabin too- their hearts were young and their love was new but it would stand the weather They believed in love so true, and in their hearts they held on too- 'cause they knew- Love endures all things- love endures all things From the sunrise in the morning to the evening they would sing- Love endures all things Well one day in town Johnny heard 'em say that the war would soon be coming this way and the time was drawing near. When he got back home to tell his bride the tears were something she could not hide but their freedom was so dear They believed in a land so new, and their hearts were brave and true and they knew- Love endures all things- love endures all things From the sunrise in the morning to the evening they would sing- Love endures all things Well the tele-graph said that she could be proud-Johnny was brave but her head she bowed for the loss of his life... And the tears that fell on the cold hard ground were heard by God as a piercing sound and He felt the pain of this young wife. She still believed in love so true and in her heart she held on too 'cause she knew- Love endures all things- Love endures all things From the sunrise in the morning to the evening she'd still sing- Love endures all things Love endures all things Love endures all things  God's love reaches all- growing means thinking outside the box... love one another |

did you ever think of publishing it somehow or seeing if someone wanted to put it to music...its beautiful.
