Single mom, at the end of another year I wonder how many women like me are getting dressed up now, to see in the new year. Why does it feel like Im the only one in the world indoors with noone to celebrate with, and the usual evening chores to deal with? I know I am soooo richly blessed. Being saved a year I appreciated deeply the point of Christmas, the gift of Jesus. Yet the 'last day of the year' always feels lonely. Without wanting to be 'worldly' and give airtime to my selfish nature, I still feel the house is too empty, there is something unfair about being uncherished tonight. I know there are plenty of you out there with greater reasons to complain, so forgive me! This is my first ever blog and I thought it might be interesting to keep a monthly account of things. Other single parents I know will relate to my self pity tonight, but deep behind it there is optimism and longer term joy. Im saved! What could be better than that? My are healthy and well, praise God. Our house is warm, there is food in the cupboard. Ive done a stint in Romania and will never forget the real meaning of poverty. I visit old folks in my town, dear friends who truly know the meaning of loneliness. So, here is to 2008. I wish to meet a good decent man who will cherish us and help us live the ideal Christian family life. But whatever happens, as I tell my four year old, Jesus is with us. We are where God wants us to be, and there is something very comforting about that.

Amen, Lynda! He is sufficient!! Another single mom here. Been that way since June of '04, legally March of '05. I can totally relate to the loneliness and the self pity and the "It's not FAIR!!" feelings. But then look at what He went thru for us! WOW! Welcome to the blogs! Hope you find lots of friends here and encouragement! I know I sure have! And believe me, there's LOTS of single moms on here who know exactly what you're going thru! GBY! Remember no matter how bad it is it can always be worse. I am currently living in the woods in a tent. I can use the computers at the library to stay in contact with the real world but still have to go back to the loneliness of a tent at night. The worse part of it is that there is no work down here. I would rather be working and being able to afford a place to live but that is the way that life is right now. We all live with what we have and wish and pray that we will eventually be better off in the future.

You are in the right place to express yourself. There are many here that share the same situation. -T Born Again Christians only need to chew, It's those left behind that have to swallow it.

Hi Lynda, You are right where the Lord wants you to be. That is an awesome place, indeed! Being a single mom is difficult, but through Christ we can do anything. He gives us the strength, wisdom and guidance we need right when it's needed. Blessings in the New Year and welcome to blogland! God's blessings always, Karen God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world. ~C.S. Lewis~ Time to say goodbye
