Bump.... thump a bump bump

It is as old as the book itself. Bible thumping. Smack a whack whack. There is a big difference in contending for the faith and standing against heresy. That is a good thing. However when we try to use Gods word to "change someones behavioral habits or choices they are making unsolicited is another story. It is then the proverbial bible thumping."

The job of the Holy Spirit is to convict the unsaved of their sins, to comfort the saved and to teach us as believers as we need to know and as we grow. Why would I leave out the Holy Spirit having to convict us too? Because when we are saved, God writes on our hearts right and wrong. We know what is right and wrong and if we go against that we will condemn ourselves in our own being.

I can not remember the last time God got down on me when I messed up. He doesn't need to, because I will do just fine at that myself. If I get caught up in stupidity and ignore my inner spirit man there are a few things I am at risk. One of them is to reap the natural course. if I stole, I could go to jail. There is also another side. My relationship with God suffers and I am out in left field while he waits from me in the infield to play catch and talk.

But the one great thing is in the body of Christ, the same Holy Spirit that resides in each believer will remind our brothers and sisters' to pray for me. Pray for each other. Then this wonderful transaction happens. I would notice God's goodness and kindness and that would bring me back to the infield to repent and move past the issues.

Would I have lost salvation because of being ashamed and standing in left field and not hanging with my Abba Father? Well as good of parents that some of us can be, he is always better. Of course not. We would never discard a rebellious either. They are our responsibility, and by the Father God is upon us to correct in the right ways and do the things necessary in our s lives.

How much better, how much more detailed is God in our lives than we can imagine. He is goodness. I have shared the Prodigal , without using one scripture, but yes I did because I shared his goodness and mercy that exists for any hand that raises and says I believe. I believe.

He is bigger and he is able. If your writhes in pain whether in body or soul, are you not there with them? I read a story once about a man who had to take his sick to the doctor. The was three and had to have a cauterization to unplug his crystallized urine. It was a necessary evil for his to survive. It was a very painful procedure and the little boy kept screaming "Daddy please make them stop!! Please Please Daddy, make them stop. The father did all he could as he held his through this horrific experience.

Finally, it was over and the little boy was on his way to recovery. Sometimes that is how it is with us and God. We cry out how we wish he could save us for the ordeal. When its over we realize he held us and probably was in worse pain than we were because of how much he loves us and yet he knew it had to be.
