the box or the contents?

I have been thinking a lot about presentation lately. The truth can be so real and so profound and life changing. Yet if is presented in a wrong way it can be immediately written off. We have all done it to varying degrees. I know that I have.

Here is an example. I was painting the First Class Cleaners off of Robinson street in Orlando over 10 years ago. A man by the name of Rick Blume pulls up. He sees I am using the Sherwin Williams A-100 satin product. He introduces himself and tells me he is a rep for Porter Paints. I had heard stchick from other paint reps, such as Color Wheel Paints (which have a bad reputation). He says "Dennis, I know that you are using a good product here, we also have a very good product. Would you be willing to use our product?" You see, he respected what I was doing and using. That immediately brought us to a point of compatable conversation. I ended up using Porter products, which are good products, because of his presentation.

Are we going to get people to listen to the truth about the present Administration if we go around talking about how his wife looks, or his stances on Abortion, Capitalism, Freedoms and the constitution if we garble our presentation up with personal attacks and inuendos? Think for a minute. If you are an educated and savvy political student, does it not set very poorly in your craw when negatives are presented about things that you happen to know are totally different factually. Didnt you get tired of all of the personal attacks on your favorite conservative politicians? I know that I did.

So you have people on one side and people on the other. Then in the middle you have the easily swayed. These people want something they can chew on. Have you ever been allowed to join in a discussion where you know that the people already in it knows more about the subject than you do? There are two thoughts in this. You can either bully that person with letting them know the facts, thus showing your superiority, or.... You can allow them to speak their mind and then with humility explain facts.

I know we have been on both ends of those conversations. The package matters. That is whym even though John McCain had ustenance to his debate, the people saw Barack as more intelligent(quesdtionable) because of how he presented his words. Empty words yes, but still; the uneducated voter bought right into them with no idea how much and how many times he was misleading them.

The media has painted President Obama in a light that is so far from the truth. However, many people believe that because they saw it on TV, it is true. Conservatives are being called extreme, so they believe that in most cases we are extreme. Is that what you want? Being called extreme? Is what you want, preaching to the choir and not really changing anyones opinion?

Personally, I have been doing a lot of soul searching lately over this. I have come to the conclusion that allthough I am very angry over what has hapened and is happening to my country, I need to find a good venue. Bragging about being a gun toting Republican is not exactly the way to make friends and influence anyone. You will however attract a lot of people that think just like you do. Guess what? We lost with that.

We live in a country where probably 85% of the people have never read the constitution. Most have only been taught false revisionist history. So they have no real clue about intent and the moral fabric instituted bu the George Washingtons' and Thomas Jeffersons. So, it all begins with basic truths. Facts and a presentation done in humility, not aggressive anger.

I think the biggest mistake I have made is this. I forget that Saul persecuted the Christians and put many to death. That same Saul had a Damascus experience that not only changed him into Paul, the greatest Christian in understanding of the Gospel, and the father basically of Christianity as we know it today.

I despise the sin of President Obama. But I also realize God is bigger than any man and their stances. So, i pray for President Obama to have a Damascus experience. i pray for him to get past his own self. We all have to do that in life as we all at times are too big for our britches. Its all about presentation. God says that some will come to him in fear, but he would rather that we come in love.

Blessings

Not making light of anything you have said here, friend. All I can say is irregardless of whether we agree or not- we still are to lift up the authority placed over us. -Not to agree with what he might stand for if it is against God----

and I have a hard time believing some God believers do not see some of that---

But- still to lift him & the cabinet up- as well as our locals, etc., because we are instructed to.

As far as us and a heart change on how we are to do this or that-

Whether instructed as abrasive or changed to something different, the only thing you need do is be the one God is instructing YOU to be.

Well I will come out and say that an obscure scripture that is not backed up by other scriptures is not sufficient to build a doctrine on. It was not God's will that millions of Jews were murdered as well as millions of babies aborted. When it goes against Gods' ways, then it is wrong and it is our duty to do something about it.
