Sal is asked...and answers

Hello Sal:

I read what is written here and I have come to the conclusion that SDAs are brainwashed. I see this as the only reason they would stick to the unbiblical beliefs of their church. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think that SDAs are brainwashed?
Thanks,
Thomas

Hello Thomas:

I hope that things are well with you my friend. Brainwashing is a very strong word. I don’t like the word. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t mean that they are brainwashed. People can honestly disagree. I do know what you mean though. No matter how I say it and how often I have to answer the same question it seems that some SDAs don’t hear me. For example, I often have to reply to the statement that if we are not under the Ten Commandments then one may kill, commit adultery, lie and steal. No matter how many times I point out that the Ten Commandments were replace by a covenant with a higher moral standard I still hear, “Then one can kill, commit adultery, lie and steal.” It is like I never explained a thing. It’s frustrating, but I don’t like to call it “brainwashing”. I see it more as the blindness that comes over those who adhere to the Old Covenant Law even if it’s only a part of the Old Law. They seem to be unable to see another opinion as a possibility.

“But their minds were closed; indeed, until this very day, the same veil remains over the reading of the Old Testament: it is not lifted, for only in Christ is it done away with. As it is, to this day, whenever Moses is read, their hearts are covered with a veil, and this veil will not be taken away till they turn to the Lord. Now this Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom”(2 Corinthians 3:14-17). Let us pray that they find this freedom.

God Be With You, my friend,
Sal

Galatians 2:21
"I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died needlessly."

This one scripture sums it all up in a nutshell!
When He said, "It is finished!" He meant it.

Love and Hugs

Lord, keep one hand on my shoulder and one hand over my mouth!
