why is the obvious so curious

Here in the United States, tithing was not taught until 1887. The reformists did not believe it was a true doctrine and yet now it is taught despite no new testament, covenant scriptural basis.

many things have been taught in the last 150 years that were not taught before. Cyrus Scofield of the Scofield bible fame, as well as the shame of many scandals is the first to come up with a concept of Christs' return before the time of the great tribulation.

but when we look at Revelations, all it really is, is the Revelation of Jesus Christ as Savior and redemer.

this is what Chapter one says. It is very consise on who it is written to.

(NAS Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, 2 who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near. 4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood-- 6 and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father--to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

John wrote to the 7 churches, to the bond servants of things which must soon take place. He wrote to churches that were greatly persecuted from prison, not being able to work and being put to death all because they believed on Jesus Christ. He also wrote in symbolism in case the writings were intercepted.

Hello Dennis. There is much to learn from God's Word, much to discern through the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things. Thank you for sharing Rev 1:1. Blessings to you. Beth
