Mark Taylor...Christian and Columbine survivor

Mark Taylor's

testimony before the FDA 9/13/2004

I am Mark Allen Taylor and I am a victim of the SSRI antidepressant era. I took six to thirteen bullets in the heart area in the Columbine High School shooting when Eric Harris on Luvox opened fire that now infamous day.

They almost had to amputate my leg and my arm. My heart missed by only one millimeter. I had three surgeries. Five years later I am still recuperating.

I went through all this to realize that SSRI antidepressants are dangerous for those who take them and for all those who associate with those who take them.

I hope that my testimony today shows you that you need to take action immediately before more innocent people like me, and you, do not get hurt or die horrible deaths as a result.

As Americans we should have the right to feel safe and if you were doing your job we would be safe. Why are we worrying about terrorists in other countries when the pharmaceutical companies have proven to be our biggest terrorists by releasing these drugs on an unsuspecting public?

How are we suppose to feel safe at school, at home, on the street, at church or anywhere else if we cannot trust the FDA to do what we are paying you to do? Where were you when I and all of my classmates got shot at Columbine?

You say that antidepressants are effective. So why did they not help Eric Harris before he shot me?

According to Eric they "helped" him to feel homicidal and suicidal after only six weeks on Zoloft. And then he said that dropping off Luvox cold turkey would help him "fuel the rage" he needed to shoot everyone. But he continued on Luvox and shot us all anyway.

So, why did these so called antidepressants not make him better? I will tell you why. It is because they do not work.

We should consider antidepressants to be accomplices to murder

from his book. "I asked God...God answered"

First of all I find that your severe attack against depression and the mental health agencies in this world are not only "wrong" but also very offensive. Why do you feel the need to attack the already depressed individual?? Do you really feel that this is a Christ led action?? Did not Jesus weep, and console even the prostitute?? Do you not believe in Satan and his evil reign and persecution upon Christians and the world today?? Have you not read your Bible?? What about Job or the prophet Elijah?? Do you not see and realize the depression these 2 men alone endured?? You are definitely way off in your articles and comments.

In your one post about where's your strength, where you comment about men's and women's emotions when they come home from work--what a sicko. Hello?? Women come home and don't want to sit down and relax, but "feel" they have more they need to do?? Well, if the man is going to be a lazy jerk and not help with the domestic household work and with the rearing of the children, then the women don't feel the need that they have more to do, this is not an "emotion", they "KNOW" they have more to do and if the lazy man won't do it then I suppose the best one left to do it will have to take care of it then won't they?? How convenient for a "man" to make such a rude offbalance comment huh?? Gee, how many of us ladies would love to come home and turn on the lifetime chanel and forget that dinner needs to be put on the table, that laundry needs to be done, and that little Jimmy needs to get to his practice on time??? and forget helping him with his homework and getting him bathed.......need I go on!!??!!

IN the post above, how can you possibly use this as an argument against mental health disorders and antidepressants?? IN this situation, these teenagers were involved with the Satanic things in their lives and from suffering from emotional neglect from the parents they also gave into extreme anger, which is a sin which Christ himself warned against in the Bible. These youth were very troubled and no amount of drugs would keep them from "acting" out their feelings exactly as they "wanted" and "planned" to. Anyone with any brains knows that pills are to "help" the person feeling low, or suffering from other mental health issues such as bipolar disorder, to stabilize their moods--they will not keep anyone from killing themselves or anyone else for this matter. (We also don't know that even though these medications were prescribed, we don't know what else was mixed with them illegally, or that they even took them as prescribed to begin with. It is a "Fact" that many who have been diagnosed with mental health disorders, do not like to take their medicines as prescribed, and then won't.) It is that person's responsibility to continue to work and labor and counsel and consult and be honest with themselves about their problems, in combination with these meds in order for them to be of any benefit to them.

I want to say I have been on antidepressents for over 12 years. I have never killed anyone, and my brain is probably sharper now then ever before. I am not dying, but I know my moods are much more stable and I'm not as prone to crying fits because of them. It is very important when investigating anything that you look at both sides of the argument not just the one you want to to be able to prove or show anything.

Lastly, I thought the same way, the if I were really a true Christian basking in the warm fuzzy glow of His spirit I wouldn't have this problem to begin with, well God Himself has revealed to me over and over again about how erroneous these thoughts were!!! It was a spirit filled sister in the Lord who took me in under her wing, to counsel me, to inform me of her observations about my unstable moods, and that there were medicines out there today to help with this. She went to school for counseling and she herself tested me, at the same church we worshiped in. The Lord put her in my life, and the Lord has directed me to every counselor since then. As I mentioned earlier that if there is anger or unforgiveness in one's heart, then this could be one reason why a person is suffering from depression. When a person suffers from rejection, abuse, or trauma, or anything else that could cause similar effects inside a person, involving a person's emotions, then they will need help, and they will suffer from chronic depression. And it doesn't matter how close with the Lord they are, these feelings will still persist, until either the Lord heals them, or the Lord constantly brings them through with continual counseling and medication. If it makes you feel better, that many who suffer from depression do so because of some possible abuse they unfortunately had to deal with, at no fault of their own, and not because of any sin, then continue to work with Satan and post such inconsiderate, unfeeling, as well as scientifically unfound words on this website. I know where I belong, and I know The Lord is with me and on my side. I don't know whose side you are on, but it is definitely not Christlike in the least.

do you ever even look up facts. No...i didnt think so. Your brain is damaged as well after being on this for 12 years.

My what a wonderful world it would be if Christians took offense to those who were dumping on the Lord as they do these people villanizing the world.

You seriously need to understand how these drugs are altewring peoples abilities to think rationally. That is what is going on. Not satan.

You need to look at things objectively.
