I Think You Left This Here

While there was/is still more to "In The Time Of Jacob's Trouble"...the timing seems inappropriate?! So, rather than just leave anyone (hello? anyone?...? ) "hanging"...lets just say officially that its been moved to the backburner for the time being.

Well, to be honest...I am somewhat apprehensive to post at this juncture. And, when I say this...I mean this as no reflection on anyone in particular...I can't (and on purpose) remember specific blogs or posts (Thank you Jesus! ). But, it is rather ugly around here lately. I feel bad when I see some of whats been written around here next to ...well, what this site is supposed to be about.

And please understand...its not a matter of being concerned with anyone's opinion (and what are opinions like...anyone?, anyone?...). And I realize the lack of tolerance on the part of most Christian's (Look at history) especially as it pertains to tolerance toward other Christian's!?

I mean...I catch "it" so often from other Christian's that I'm surprised when someone is actually nice to me. I laugh everytime I read about the thieves and pro's getting into Heaven before those who think they're all that...because its usually true...I get more genuine compassion and respect from people at the jail than I do from my "Fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord" (Said in a deep baritone voice drawn out like brooootherrrsss and sissssterrrrrs in theeee LLLLLooooorrrr-D! )

But, I digress...

We all know how the media sensationalizes issues with no respect or consideration to people's rights or privacy(even our own). We even have our own homes invaded by stories on the nightly news of indiscretion, and the most lewd behaviors imaginable. We loathe the lack of integrity and decorum in running such stories and why we can't even get the weather report without finding out what Britney is or isn't wearing today in the most graphic detail! We call such reporting trash and we abhor it in both its content and the manner in which it is obtained.

And yet...here we are...the standards of righteousness in the earth:

a) Wasting blog space to call people out by name! When done for any reason is a bad show. Bad behavior real or imagined does not justify bad behavior in response. Report them...start a group...send an e-mail. If someone really feels like its there God-given duty to police the site....find out the new people everyday and warn them...yeah, its a little bit of work...but, if your called...? Shouldn't this, as a whole, be a place of edification? We should never see any members name here in print referred to in a negative way...whether we agree with them (their beliefs and/or behaviors) or not.

And more importantly...

b) I enjoy coming here and reading what others write (whether I agree with them or not), and alot of folks have some real and anointed insight that they share on the blogs. I think most of us do the same or similar. And yet, we are subjected to wading through the "feud state" to try and pluck a few gems out of the muck.

And you know what happens...alot of the time we get sucked into a post (i.e., "what does that title mean?, etc., etc. ) and have the bad spirit (state of mind, karma ...whatever)of that post imparted upon us (if you don't believe me...look at the # of views on the "junk"). And some people get caught up in it to the point that they come specifically to scan for more controversy.

Or maybe thats the point? Maybe in the desire to be "popular" it becomes more important to be seen and read regardless of content?! And if thats true, then we have become exactly like the tabloid media...anything for the sake of ratings.

I know...I know...alot of this has settled down now...but that doesn't mean its okay! I don't care who started it...I don't care who did what to who first...leaving, staying; who is more righteous and in the Word or who has the greatest Godly ideals (or the worst)...heres your benchmark:

If Christ hasn't kicked them to the curb...and if He hasn't called them out...who the heck are you?!

And, why should your beef be taking up space that could be used for someone who actually has something uplifting to say?

Now, I honestly considered closing this post to reply...but thats not really fair is it? Soooo go ahead...maybe if you justify it long enough and loud enough, eventually you'll believe it yourself!?

Hi Kel, This was a good post and a very good point. I read many blogs that I do not agree with and just move on. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will move me or speak to me through a blog and I am thankful for BC and the awesome Christian friends that I have met. If I felt that the Holy Spirit was moving me to visit with someone regarding a blog then I would do so by email and never through an open forum. God is NOT about guilt, shame, nor blame. He is about accountability and we as the Body of Christ holding each other accountable. I am greatful to my friends that hold me accountable and help me in my walk with the Lord. However, most times in life I find the issue is not in what you do but in how you went about doing it. The written word is powerful and the tonuge a 2 edge sword,,,,,,, be careful how you wield it.

"A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ that a man should have to seek Him first to find her."

Blessings to All! WendyLynn

Thank you...you are too kind. I would agree there is a distinct difference between blame and accountability...maybe that distinction is clearer for some than others? Or maybe; as you say, the written word is powerful and sometimes we go to "swatting" flies with a shotgun! I do this myself...not intentionally, but I'm told I can come across as blunt on occassion! I will try to be more careful in how I wield it myself. Thank you again!
