Super hero powers

Do you remember all those old shows with those cool super heroes? My favorite was Wonder Woman. I guess I always liked her femininity and well as her being able to kick it! I always thought it would be awesome to have "super powers". But we have an ever better "super hero". We have Jesus Christ, Saviour, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Ephesians 3:20
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us."

According to His "power". Wouldn't you like to have just a teeny, tiny bit of God's power?

We have His power, He has given it to us, but it is up to us to unlock it and use it.

We have to start by unlocking the power of His Word. The power of the Word of God is not bound by time or circumstance. It is never changing, always consistent.

Hebrews 4:12
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

I really like that last part "is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." We have the instruction manual all written for us.

Next is the power of faith. I went to a womens conference one time and our speaker (a wonderful WOG) made this statement about faith; "Faith is not a vaccine from the germs of life." It sounds a little silly but it is true. We still have our pesky germs in life that keep causing us trouble. But we have "power". We have faith.

Hebrews 11:1
"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."

How do we obtain faith?
Knowledge + Belief + Trust = Faith

We obtain knowledge through the Word.

Power through the Holy Spirit. We have a TON of power through the Holy Spirit. He is our Comforter, our Guide, our Wisdom, our Teacher, out Intercessor and much, much more.

Last but certainly not least, we have power in the Name of Jesus.

Acts 3:6
"Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk."

Because of His victory over death at Calvary there is power in His name.

John 14:13
"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the ."

So, you see, we DO have some of His power. He has given it to us. All we have to do is use it.

Here's an add on I think you will like.

Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

The Greek word corisponding with 'more then', is 'hupernikao', Strongs reference no. 5245, usually implies a decisive victory. It's Greek root word is 'huper', Strongs reference no. 5228, which in it's primary preposition form back to English means 'super'. More literally it says, "we are super conquerors through him that loved us."

Isaiah 66:2b; But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
