It's late & I am being cryptic on purpose. I like books, the Word of God, solitude, milling crowds, naps, Sunday afternoon rides to nowhere, running water, canoes, rafts, hiking, learning what makes things tick, meeting new people, getting to know old people and hearing their stories, dogs, sappy movies, old jeans & a man's shirt, tacos, chicken-fried steaks, and veggies, winter snowstorms, spring rains, thunderstorms, curious , projects, music with lyrics, blues, acoustic guitar, cookies, living under the direction of God, and always, seeing the other side of the next hill.
My Ideal Person
Someone who is spontaneous, yet capable of planning if necessary, loves Jesus, believes in the effectiveness of prayer, and wants to explore more than what he's always known.
Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
I am wondering at the far-reaching scope of grace, while realizing the benefits of holiness.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
The steps of a righteous woman are ordered of the Lord. For God did not appoint me to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.(I Thessalonians 5:9)
Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
An out-of-the-way corner of Barnes & Noble or Borders or any little cafe or even Denny's where we could talk.
Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
Grew up on the flats of Illiois so I treasure hills, mountains, wind, & water.
What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
I love a class that digs into the deeper meanings of spiritual formation & the original languages of the scriptures.
What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
I love to read, but I come home from a day teaching & dictating to court reporters & tend to hit the computer & watch tv or talk on the phone. I like to mess in the yard, walk in the woods, or hit the thrift stores & garage sales.
What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
I want to write, travel, grow in love for all people, and draw nearer to God as I see the earth's labor pains increasing.
