My philosophy on just about everything is to keep it as simple as possible. Sometimes that just means being honest. Doesn't hurt to have a joyous and generous heart!
My Ideal Person:
I dream of being with a partner I love. You are not perfect, nor am I. We do not complete each other, because only Christ can do that. But we can spend an evening at the symphony, or curled up on the couch watching a movie, or doing taxes, and enjoy every minute. We can laugh together, pray together, cry together, or just be together. We help our neighbor together, or you can go help and I'll stay home and bake you some cookies, or I can go and you can wash the car. The point is we will want to be together and we will enjoy being apart. We will also serve God, each other, and others. Any takers?

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
My faith defines who I am. It molds my decisions and opinions--not blindly. In fact, I think I actually struggle with certain issues more than some of my non-Christian friends because I don't do things just because it feels good. I am very involved in my church as a deacon and as a member of the choir. I'm in a small group and leading a small group for high school girls. My church nourishes me in so many ways.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
Joshua 1:9 It is not always easy for me to take steps in a new direction until I am reminded who has commanded me and that he is at my back.
Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
The values in my life are so strongly related to my Christian beliefs that I believe they must go hand-in-hand. I think a couple who grow together in Christ grow closer to each other at the same time.
Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
Grew up in Ann Arbor, MI. I have lived elsewhere in Michigan, Chicago and in Europe (Hungary). Traveling is something I used to do more, but has always been an interest of mine. Consequently I have traveled around a number of places in Europe, Central America, and Africa. Hoping to hit Japan next year.
What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
My favorite activities include reading, watching movies, walking my dog, helping people, yard work, and participating in music. I sing in the choir at church, as well as being active in a number of other ways.
What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
During the school year I usually spend 9 or 10 hours at work each school day. Often I also have to do grading in the evenings. I walk my dog every day after school and try to fit in 4 days of running.
What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
I guess I'm always trying to get better at whatever I do or am. I'm always looking for ways to teach more effectively. I'm always working on being more loving toward my "neighbor" and being patient for my students.
