I have been a single parent of 2 boys after my husband died when i was just 45. I am now a grandmother of 3 boys and enjoying my free time by being a Red Cross Volunteer in family services. I am an enthusiastic gardener with 2 greenhouses, a vineyard and I grow asparagus, blackberries, tomatoes for the local restaurants. I enjoy designing childrens quilts and am a member of an active quilting guild. I attend a large mega-church
Bible teaching and am active in the seniors groups.I As you can see I enjoy people and my family, but evenings become lonely for me and I yearn for a gentle protective man in my life to share all
of life's joys.
My Ideal Person
First of all my partner must have a deep relationship with Jesus, not just Bible knowledge but a conviction that God comes first and foremost in his life. I have a strong desire to serve the Lord, my partner must respect my wanting to be useful for God. I would prefer the tall , dark and handsome type but the inner man is what I am looking at. I like to walk hand in hand at sunset and revel in the trees, flowers, ponds that sing of God's creation. If you are practical, self starter, have many interests, just enjoy living fully come join me being useful to those in need. If you would like to join me in celebrating life I would like to meet you.

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
I strive to be a fully devoted follower of Christ.
I have been a widow for 20 years never realizing that God may have a helpmate just waiting for me.
Now that I have truly put God's will first in my life I am open to his control of my life.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
God will not ask you to do a difficult task without standing beside you. He will not ask you to do more than you are truly capable of doing.
Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
My whole life is centered upon Christian precepts and I would expect whoever wants to date me would treat me with the highest Christian principles as outlined in the Bible.
Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I have grown up in the suburbs of Washington,D.C., have visited some along the East Coast, St. Louis, and some Carribean Islands.Maine and North Carolina have some incredible landscapes but I feel most comfortable near Virginia.
What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
We have an active small group Bible study that meets weekly .It is a congenial group and I feel what we talk about is confidential, private. I am part of a Primetime Seniors group at church but sometimes I feel that their outlook is toooo conservative. Another craft group I am active in is a Quilting Guild that is making caring quilts for the Katrina evacues. Other interests are growing dwarf evergreens to sell.
What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
I live on a small farm where I have 3 dogs that "exercise" me 2-3 times a day. I care for a 5 year
old grandson noon to 6 p.m. daily while his mom is in Michigan caring for her critically ill father.
Evenings my son and I eat supper together and plan the next day's pickup and play-dates for his son.
Sometimes grandmothers do stay home to keep the home fires burning.!
What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
I strive to learn more about Christ daily, help other people understand the great love Christ has for them when they accept Him into their heart.
One way I plan to serve God is to be a disaster relief volunteer with the Red Cross. When the immediate needs of my own family are met I can be deployed down on the Gulf Coast or be called up for local disaster family service and shelter assistance.
